Salmon’s popularity comes with quite a bit of confusion because of its varieties, health claims, and concerns about sustainabilities. Most of the salmon we eat is named for the ocean or region it comes from. Pacific salmon covers more than Atlantic salmon and Norwegian salmon, which are generally farmed rather than wild. *Farmed salmon can save a few bucks at store, but wild salmon *delivers much more for your buck in terms of not only flavor but nutrients. Therefore, it’s no wonder that wild salmon is named a superfood for both skin and hair. It can even lower the risk of heart disease, combat the joint pain of arthritis, and aiding conditions like depression, *asthma, and *ADHD. Now, there is a *GMO salmon, which grows larger and faster requiring less feed. Some people are worried that GMO fish may be detrimental to the fishing communities and the environment.
