Hello everyone, welcome to today’s pronunciation challenge and if you are wondering where Kristi is, don’t worry! Kristi will be back tomorrow. My name is Sam. I’m from Toronto, Canada and this is my first time recording the pronunciation challenge so I hope all go well. And, if anyone wonders the Canadian pronunciation, my accent, since I’m from Toronto, my accent should be pretty similar to American accent, standard American pronunciation, so let me know the comments. If you’ve been to Toronto or anywhere else in Canada, you will like about it. So, the sentence I chose today is from one of my favorite TED videos and that video is called the danger of single story. So, let’s get into the sentences for today.

因為我小時候所有的讀物書中的角色全是外國人，我自然就相信我寫的故事裡面就該有外國人也要有一些在我生活中無法親身體會的事物。

So, in other words, because all the books yet read when she was young or about foreigners and foreigners in them and all the things in the books talked about or things that she can relate to. She just assumed that all of the books all in this way or the books were supposed to be this way, so it’s really interesting and tend to talk highly recommended and everyone go check it out.


1 . character 角色

*注意ch不發[tʃ]的音而是發[k]的音，重音在第一音節。

I’m from Canada, living in Taiwan, so I am a foreigner.

3 . convinced 被說服了

4 . identify 驗證、認同

*重音在第二音節

句構：Because (連接詞)帶出從屬子句， 加上 I had become~ 獨立子句，形成一完整句子。

時態：因是過去的一段時間，對於現在已無作用，所以使用過去完成式。
