G’day Voicetubers, welcome back to my weekly episode! Our video today talks about what it takes to be a first-class flight attendant for the Emirates airline. Personally, I’ve not taken a flight with this airline before nor have I ever been in first class. However, I’ve had the opportunity to have gotten bumped up to Business class one time when the airline accidentally overbooked the economy class section of our flight. It was a nice experience, the seats were definitely more spacious than the ones back in economy class and the meals served were slightly fancier.
Let’s put Covid-19 aside for a while and try to remember how much fun it was when we were able to travel around freely! Apart from the sightseeing, sometimes one of the most exciting parts of your trip is the flights themselves! After you get past immigration, the fun begins with the duty-free shops! If you run out of time you can even continue your shopping while you’re on your flight and also after you land at your destination. What’s your favourite part about flying? Sometimes I request in advance for special meals such as the low-calorie option. While feeling good about getting a healthier option for the sake of my body, the best part about ordering a special meal is that it will always be served first.
Thanks to the wonderful flight attendants, they are there to ensure all of us are comfortable.
I used to dream of becoming a flight attendant once. I envied the fact that they get to visit different cities in the world and stay in nice hotels. You can watch the video and find out more about what it’s like working as a first-class crew member for the Emirates.

Working as a flight attendant seems like a challenging job. It’s not just fun and travel for them, it’s actually a pretty demanding job. The schedules are busy, sometimes you need to wake up in the middle of the night after only a few hours of sleep to get ready for an early flight. Not only do you need to be physically fit to face health-related challenges such as fatigue, but you also need to be trained to have good people skills and decision-making skills to handle stressful situations and meet the needs of all kinds of passengers. Usually, the pay when you first start out in this industry is quite low, but I’m guessing once you’ve made your way up to serve in first class, you will be compensated well and be able to enjoy the perks of the job. You might be able to meet a lot of interesting people like celebrities and perhaps make some good friends along the way. Siti, the flight attendant in the video, says that she works hard but also gets the chance to have fun and enjoy other benefits such as flying with friends and family around the world for free.
