Hello VoiceTubers, it’s great to have you back. Have you worked in a restaurant before? Today’s video demonstrates health and safety in a restaurant kitchen. One of the most basic rules of working in a kitchen environment is to wear proper footwear. Non-slip soles and shoes that cover up your toes are definitely very important. I used to work in a Japanese restaurant before. I worked front-of-house on the till (收銀機), served tables, and also worked in the kitchen doing preparation work. I had a supervisor who was always keeping a close eye on us. He would come over and correct us whenever he sees something that was not done properly or could be done better. There was an accident in the kitchen once. It happened because I didn’t handle my knife properly. I walked over to the sink with my knife pointing forward and the guy doing the dishes suddenly turned around and the knife I was holding poked straight into his palm. Fortunately, it didn’t go too deep and we didn’t need to send him to the hospital. I was a bit shaken up by the incident and I’m still scared to handle knives these days. I felt really bad for what had happened and was very careful from then on.
