Hey guys! It’s Hubert and I’m back again with another episode of Pronunciation Challenge. What I have for you today is a Nas Daily video! His videos are always fun and highly informative. In today’s video, Nas talks about Million Dollar Ideas! He talks about everyday people who came up with solutions to everyday problems! Looking back at the ideas that made these people millions may appear simple but it’s always tougher than it looks! Are you sitting on a million- dollar idea? Hopefully, this video can inspire one of you listeners to invent a product that can change our lives!
Also, stay tuned because I actually have one of these productions mentioned in the video. I’ll tell you what it is and my experiences with it. In the meantime, check out the video and then we’ll move onto the featured sentence!

Today’s Featured Sentence:
“So he went to his lab, played around with bacteria and came up with a unique invention that magically solves the problem.”

I’ll say that again.

“So he went to his lab, played around with bacteria and came up with a unique invention that magically solves the problem.”

Ok, now time for the Pronunciation Tips.

Pronunciation Tips:

First word.
Bacteria
Four syllables. Bak (as in the word “back) tee (The letter “T”)·ree (Ree has the long “E” sound) and ·uh.

Next word.
Unique
Two syllables. Yoo (as in the word “you”) and neek (Nee has the long “E” sound)

Next up.
Magically
Four syllables. Ma ·ji (ji has a very short “I” sound)·kuh·lee (these two syllables are blended together, kuh-lee)

Moving onto Vocabulary!

The first word is:
1. Bacteria (n.) KK[/bækˈtɪr.i.ə/] IPA/dɛt/
Definition
biology. very small organisms that are found everywhere and are the cause of many diseases.
Used in a sentence you could say,
“Food must be heated to a high temperature to kill harmful bacteria.”

Next word,
2. Unique (adj.) KK[juːˈniːk]
Definition
being the only existing one of its type or, more generally, unusual, or special in some way
An example would be,
“Her style of writing is rather unique”

And lastly,
3. Magically (adv.) KK[mædʒ.ɪ.kəl.i]
Definition:
in a way that uses or seems to use magic
Used in a sentence you can say,
“Unfortunately, things won't magically correct themselves.”

Outro
And that about concludes today’s episode but before I go, I did say that I actually have one of the products listed in Nas’s video. Can you guess what it is? By process of elimination, I’m pretty sure you guys wouldn’t think that I have guinea pig manure lying around nor would I choose mouthwash as a topic interesting enough to talk about. Yes, I have the translator! It’s actually called ili and I purchased this product right before I moved to Asia! I figured I would be traveling throughout areas that required me to speak Mandarin or Japanese so I made sure to get this product before leaving Canada. Was it useful? Heck yes! It’s really cool and I carry it around when I’m traveling, although I’m relying on it less these days because my Mandarin has gotten much better. I can switch it to Japanese but with the pandemic, I wouldn’t have much need to speak Japanese in Taiwan anyways. Alright, you know what you need to do. Record your recordings and be sure to watch the video. Until next time! Peace!
