Introduction:
Hi guys, welcome back to today’s pronunciation challenge (yawn)....oh excuse me, I didn’t get to bed until really late last night and had to wake up early this morning, so I’m a bit haggard today. How many hours of sleep do you need every night to function properly during the day? The National Sleep Foundation recommends that most adults should get between 7 and 9 hours of sleep each night. However, some studies have shown that we don’t necessarily need to sleep that long. Some people can take short naps every few hours during the day and they’re able to function as well as those who had a continuous long sleep. It’s actually not a bad idea to take a short nap during the day, even if you don’t feel tired. It will probably make you feel more refreshed and help you concentrate better. All it takes is a 15-20 minute nap and you’ll feel as good as new! Today’s video talks about the possibility of adapting to getting just 60-70% of your usual sleep amount so check it out and learn more about the science behind it!
