1. accomplish /əˈkɑmplɪʃ/：
accomplish 為動詞，意思是「完成，實現」，相似詞為 achieve，例如：「任務完成」可以說 mission accomplished. 而 accomplish 的名詞形為 accomplishment (成就)，例如：a sense of accomplishment (成就感)。

First word for today is ‘accomplish’. Accomplish is a verb meaning ‘to succeed in doing or completing something’. The synonym of the word accomplish is ‘achieve’. People often say “mission accomplished.” referring to they have done what they intended to do.

It only took her three days to accomplish this tough task.

2. realize /ˈriəˌlaɪz/：
realize 為動詞，意思是「明白，意識到」，後面常常加 that 子句或是疑問詞如 how/what/why/who，例如：

Let’s move to the second word: realize. Realize is a verb which means ‘to understand or become aware of a particular fact or situation’. We usually put a clause beginning with “that” or a question word such as ‘how/what/why/who’ after the word ‘realize’. For example,

The last thing you have to notice about the word ‘realize’ is that it usually won’t be used in the progressive tenses!

3. likely /ˈlaɪkli/：
likely 作形容詞，意思是「很有可能的」，常用片語為 be likely to do/to be sth，

The final word for today is ‘likely’. Something that is likely means it will probably happen or is probably true. The phrase we usually say is ‘be likely to do/to be sth’.

Seeing those dark clouds in the sky, I think it’s likely to rain this afternoon.
在看見烏雲密佈的天空後，我覺得今天下午很可能會下雨。


likely 也可以作副詞，意思等同於 probably (可能地)。

Likely can be an adverb as well. When it's as an adverb, it means ‘probably’.

The singer announced that she would likely release her new album at the end of the year.

likely 的相反詞就是在字首加上 un-，unlikely 意思是「不太可能發生的」。

Put un- in the beginning of the word ‘likely’. Then you’ll get the word ‘unlikely’ which is the opposite word of ‘likely’, which means ‘not likely to happen’.

It’s most unlikely that I will arrive on time because of the traffic jam.
