(那人的道歉和解釋改變了什麼？)這樣的動作有什麼重大的意義存在呢？(其實)在我們所舉的停車場例子當中，我們的看法被其他人的「思考階梯」給阻斷了。(我們的思考轉變成：先是聽到了他說：)「我太太要生了，我必須快點趕過去。」...
【心得】所以當別人的行為激怒或刺傷到我們時，我們應該要想對方可能背後有很多不得已的苦衷，甚至把他想得很可憐(例如身世坎坷、家徒四壁…之類的)，這樣我們就會感到釋懷，甚至愧疚，覺得應該要對他態度要好些、然後加送他一個大大的擁抱。(然後把對方搞得莫名其妙:p)

現在不只週末，還包含星期五都是複習了嗎？

♪ That same experience zips up the ladder [in the blink of an eye], exiting at the top.

♪ Let's focus on what happens on [each rung of the ladder]. On the first rung, we have the raw data and observations of our experience.

♪ On to the third rung. We [assign meaning to] the information we have filtered through.

♪ [Still with me?] Great! Let's take a real-life example and run it up the ladder to see how this all works.

♪ Have you ever been cut off in a parking lot, [signal light on] as you [steer toward your coveted spot], only to [slam on your brakes] at the last minute as someone pulls in front of you and steals your spot away?
■signal light on（指示燈、方向燈亮起）

■covet (v.) 覬覦，垂涎（尤指他人之物: to want to have something very much, especially something that belongs to someone else
■slam on (= quickly use) the brakes（趕忙踩刹車）

♪ Who cares that it's sunny out and the birds are [chirping]?

♪ You filter in the sensation of your grip tightening on the wheel, you feel your blood pressure rise, you hear the [squeal] of your brakes, and you notice the expression on the face of the other driver as he pulls in front of you and quickly looks away.

♪ Time for our third rung. Ever since you were young, your parents taught you the importance of [waiting in line and taking your turn]. You [live and die by the rule of first come, first serve]. And now this guy has just stolen your spot. [What gives?]

♪ Jumping quickly to the fifth rung, we conclude that this guy is heartless, [inconsiderate], [he needs to be taught a lesson and put in his place]. We feel angry, frustrated, [vindictive], [justified].
■inconsiderate (adj.) 不體諒他人、不顧別人、欠考慮的
■he needs to be taught a lesson and put in his place（他需要被調教調教✦ˑ̫✦）
■vindictive (adj.) 想報復、懷恨在心的
■justified (adj.) 有正當理由的

♪ That's the last time I give in! Next time someone tries to cut me off, [tires will be smoking on the pavement] as I squeal past them into my spot.
■tires will be smoking on the pavement（輪胎會在路上冒煙→表示快速呼嘯而過）

♪ And finally our last rung: we take action. We [back up], [pull up behind his car], [honk our horn], and [roll down our window] to scream a few [choice words] his way.
■back up（倒車）
■pull up（(車)停下）
■honk the horn（按喇叭）
■roll down the window（搖下車窗）
■choice words（精選的詞句→此指罵對方的話）

♪ Now imagine, he walks over quickly, apologizing. His wife, [who's almost due with their first baby], called him from inside the mall to say she is in labor and needs to get to the hospital immediately.
■due (adj.) 預期(將要發生)的
■sb is almost due with sb’s first baby（某人似乎快要生了第一個寶寶）

♪ We're [momentarily shocked], [apologize profusely], and wish him luck as he [rushes toward] the entrance.
■momentarily (adv.) 立即、立刻；片刻、短暫地
■profusely (adv.) 豐富、大量地；不吝嗇地、慷慨地: with a large amount of something
■rush toward（往…跑去）

♪ But what if we were able to short-circuit our ladders ourselves? [Proactively], by choice? Guess what? We can!

♪ We all have our own unique ladder. [Be mindful of] yours, and help others to see theirs.

話說這時節好像很多壽星呢～昨天班上就有三位同月同日生的人耶～看來射手寶寶佔人口比例很高噢～
