    • So of all the years that I've been washing this it hasn't cracked or faded or broken away or anything but it is very stiff no matter how much I wash this it's really hard and it's not comfy and like when your arms rub against it it's it's sandpaper so I think that this one's gonna have to go it really is because I've it's sat in my pajamas drawer and I don't think I've ever worn it to bed because it's so uncomfortable oh this this is cool this probably shouldn't be in my pajamas drawer but it's in there because it's quite little and I feel self-conscious wearing it out in public there was an art exhibit uh at our art gallery in Sydney it was Kentaro Yoshida Kentaro Yoshida this t-shirt was a souvenir from the art gallery of New South Wales there was a Japanese artist on display it was absolutely amazing these are all the Japanese mythological creatures that some of these have been represented in Ghibli films like in Spirited Away and Totoro and things like that it's fascinating you look him up um Kentaro Yoshida look him up the artwork is so cool uh yeah like I said this is in the pajama drawer because it's short and I don't really like to wear it out in public but it's really cool hmm he can stay in the pajama drawer for now because I don't see myself wearing it up what about here oh another Peter Alexander this is from the early days don't remember it was Dan or his mum that gave me this one this one's that little bunny from Disney I'd Snow White I don't remember actually it doesn't doesn't say this is going in the maybe pile purely because I've got so many sleep t-shirts that I don't know if I need it this is pretty little thing again it says princess it's another one of these extremely soft long stretchy t-shirts that I love wearing to sleep misguided here oh did someone say brunch yeah I've never worn this one out in public I've only ever worn it to sleep you can see my preference right see how for sleeping this one see it's long like that and uh the t-shirts that are kind of shorter I just I'm not so inclined to wear them to bed this is from Thriftmas this is a big Ed Hardy t-shirt that I have worn many times to bed around the house I don't know if I want to keep this because this isn't the sort of thing that I would wear out and about this is you know the right length and the right size to wear to bed or around the house for chores but it's really heavy fabric does it say what it is it says 100% cotton that's supposed to be a good thing but I find it very hot it's not really breathable so I don't know if I want to keep that because almost every time I've worn it I've been like I'm sweaty so sweaty so not sure this oh I love this I love this so much did you guys see my Walmart was it I wore clothes from Walmart for a week in a Hawaii video I got this this is a Moo Moo I got it from Walmart still one of my favorite things ever it's so comfortable okay I love it this another Walmart find I'm going to donate this this I wore it a lot that year and maybe even the next year after I went to Hawaii but these days I again like I said out in public I don't really wear slogan things and this is not quite right for me to wear to bed it's a little bit too short it is comfy but there's something about the colors I find quite distressing or when I want to go to bed and go to sleep I want to like unwind and calm down there's something about like red blue green and yellow that kind of makes me be like I'm not really calming is that you can probably see all of these oh wow would you look at that oh my god everything is pink blue and white wow anyway does not does not help me go to sleep so this one can get donated this I believe is another one of these university ones that my mom gave me University of Michigan champions of the west I know Michigan's in America I know I wasn't certain about Harvard but Michigan that one can go I lived in this after my nose job bad memories um this one this was from pretty little thing I think this is a licensed friends t-shirt I have a confession to make I've never watched friends I like this and I was all over Japan I just like basic gray t-shirts the video of mine I only ate food from 7-eleven in Japan for a week that's got like three million views it's my most popular video this is what I was wearing when I started you know day one or whatever it was I was everywhere in Japan and I feel like a traitor every time I wear it because I haven't watched friends I'm gonna get on to that oh the drawer is empty I can't believe it the drawer is empty moving on I don't remember what's oh dear okay well Peter Alexander again Peter Alexander Star Wars collection this is one that Dan gave me again it's got the sleeves that I don't like like the muscle t-shirt sleeves but I love Star Wars and it's a maybe because it's Peter Alexander very good quality so nice to sleep in the fabric's really lovely and breathable um but I don't like the cut of it so much this oh my god look how old this is this this has uh two things going against it this is wild fox old wild fox from like 2010 and it was originally made to be distressed like it came with holes in it and everything and it was also like a kind of faded white when I bought it I got this second hand off eBay because I really loved wild fox couture and I couldn't afford anything because a t-shirt like this would have been like $200 new I think from memory so I got it on eBay for $30 it was already worn distressed and everything and then I wore it many many years to bed and now it's just kind of yeah it's sort of gone funny color and no matter how much you wash it you can't get the stains to come out and this is not in good enough condition to donate I don't know what to do with this one if I could figure out how to get the stains out like see how yellow it is and like it's got once again a soy sauce stain or a chili sauce stain or I I eat food in my pajamas sometimes when we're watching movies on the couch and sometimes they get stains that just don't come out need to figure out how to sort that this we got this in the Hawaii and they were so cheap I don't know if they were like a dollar or something each I love this it makes me think of tiasha every time I see it that can stay oh oh from my meshki video this is the meshki uh not silk but like satiny kind of pajamas I love these I really what I should kind of be focusing on I should probably try to just narrow it down to like nice two-piece pajama sets that I'm going to get heaps and heaps of wear out of but I don't own very many of them thermals thermals shouldn't really be in my pajama collection these are from Japan you can go to like dollar stores in Japan or convenience stores and get thermals in the winter and they're so cheap like the equivalent of three or four dollars and they are super super super warm they stay there's a few you know why these are in here because I sleep in thermals in winter that's why they're in my pajama drawers this has a tag on it why oh this there we go this is thermals from Japan see it says stretch warm inner and then everything else is in Japanese I got a few of these while I was in Japan because I was severely underprepared for how cold it was last time I was there this is nice this is my mum got me this I don't know where she got it from it says pure hype just a hot pink long sleeve shirt but it's really nice to wear underneath things when I'm cold it's not quite thermals it's not thermal material but I've worn this to bed on many uh more thermals for you more thermals these I think are thermals from Aldi Aldi did this special a couple of months ago we all went camping and Dan went and bought some thermals for me little did he know that I bought a bunch of thermals from Wish to take camping this is very soft really nice Aldi Aldi is so severely underrated they sell some really good things this is the that belongs with the mesh key pajamas that I love and I feel very rich and opulent when I wear these this definitely stays something white white thermals now see I don't want to keep this white clothing white clothing and the the way that I live do not agree this is a top from a lovely mesh key two-piece set the pants are in the wash over there because I could be wearing them almost every day this week okay that's another drawdown oh god pants now these are Pikachu shorts from that OG video of mine they can stay actually I feel like I should probably put some of these things away to make room tops that I'm keeping they almost fill up that entire drawer that tells me that I've kept more than enough these these are from oh these these are the best these are Critical Role merch oh my god if you're a critter and you've never bought their merch and you've been thinking you really want to but might be a little bit expensive and you don't know if you want to or not just do it their merch is like the best in the game I swear to god this this is the Critical Role pajama pants they are quite literally the most comfortable pajama pants I've worn in my entire life Dan got them for me the top and the pants from this set the best pajamas I've ever owned in fact they're so good that any of these others that I've owned in the past these can all go I don't remember I think my mom got me these I don't remember where they came from not as comfy as those Dan got me these for our anniversary or my birthday or something a few years ago pastel stormtrooper pajamas from Peter Alexander I love them so much the Critical Role pajamas are on par with the Peter Alexander pajamas these are the Pikachu ones from years ago again very very comfy they stay for sure oh this one is that was hard to okay these can go away right who remembers Hello Kitty ASOS years ago this was in my regular clothing rotation I used to wear it out and about in public cycled into my loungewear rotation I love these I will always love this I remember this was expensive I remember that was back when I was new at haul videos I never really had ever spent money on clothes and I just remember however much that set was it was astronomically expensive and I remember struggling to justify keeping it but I've got so much wear out of it and I always will so I'm keeping that this is my Barbie misguided thing I wore this all over Japan the year that Dan and I went and got engaged there I like this for sentimental reasons and I don't wear it that often because it's cropped it's really short like super super short it's really dark now the sun went away and I didn't realize you know my face mask is all dried up now hello I don't have that many two-piece tracksuit kind of thing so I will keep it these from Boohoo this was the most popular item from that Boohoo video I put traceable links on that video they weren't affiliate links or anything but I just was really interested to see what people were buying and it had like tens of thousands of clicks so many people bought this I love it I'll never get rid of it I just I love it so much it's so comfortable oh okay the bottom drawer I can't I can't oh the bottom drawer is full of swimsuits hmm I'm not ready to look at swimsuits right now oh this is like my workout clothing I don't work out the TikTok leggings I bought the TikTok leggings because I was going to do a video because I really thought my butt would look a million dollars like all of the TikTok videos people put them on and they're like oh and their butts look amazing mine looked like a blue pancake I didn't post that video I was like it did nothing for me I really thought a bit of fabric would give me a Kim K booty but it did not but I still like them I got them in three colors I got them in gray and black and blue uh wow that's it I know there's more over on that pile over there that just didn't make it in here because this drawer was full but that's all I have the energy for to film right now I'm getting warm it's getting very very warm oh okay well I hope that you enjoyed that sorry that was I like I just I went to clear out the drawer and I was like I should film this I feel like people might enjoy maybe I know that I've been filming for at least 30 minutes so I hope that that was 30 minutes of somewhat entertaining content about pajamas so with that thank you guys so much for watching and I'll see you next time

    • Like I feel good after that, but that does feel really really good So if you want to do more You should do more next we're gonna do some shoulder cars controlled articular rotation So I'm gonna show you two variations first variation single arm in this bent over position here Reach Behind your back I'll do with my hand open so you can see how my shoulders rotating You Other single arm You Here I really focus on the ability of my shoulder to rotate I Did a really bad job of breathing in that one I who I was not breathing make sure you're breathing make sure Breathe air this other shoulder car Variation you can do double arm just like seated you can also do it standing but for the sake of this I am NOT gonna stand up so Up sun salutation just kidding.

    • It's time to start bringing in some rotation, and that rotation starts from the edge change.

    • A byproduct of this rotation with your hips is that your shoulder line becomes more open, meaning that it's easier to turn your head and see back up the slope and see anyone who might be coming down this side trying to overtake you.

    • The main motion of the upper neck is rotation.

    • But if we maintain that rotation for too long, the joints can get stuck and the muscles can seize up.

(Chapter 12 - Posture, Movement, and Performance Assessments)

(Chapter 12 - Posture, Movement, and Performance Assessments)
    • So what we want to know though is if anything is out of alignment all right if there seems to be some sort of an imbalance somewhere or if we looked at the going back to some of the terminology if there are any impairments that we're seeing you know with that posture well what are they well pes plantis lower cross and upper cross syndrome all right so if anything make sure that you know these three cat you know characteristics oh you know for the three distortion patterns because this might be something that pops up on your test that might say you know what distortion pattern is characterized by forward head and protracted round or rounded shoulders you'd say upper cross okay so let's get into the three of them first one is pes plantis if you look all right at the ankle joint you can see that you have what we would call a collapsed arch okay that collapsed arch is causing you to have what we would call eversion or the sole of the foot start to flare out all right the knee joint you can see if you look at the line of sight of the femur and of the tib fib you'll see that you're a little bit more bow-legged which we call knee valgus all right and there's a little bit of what we would call internal rotation meaning that the the femur is rotating in at the hip joint you can see here we're adducted we're pushing our knees together so we're going toward the midline and internally rotated as well now going through you can see the potential muscle imbalances pay attention to the over and under active muscles here as an overactive would be the gastrocnemius and the soleus so the calves are overactive the adductors are overactive pulling those knees in and the hip flexors as well which will cause internal rotation under active meaning that they need to be strengthened at some point overactive would need to be stretched under active are the anterior and posterior tibialis so that right in the front part of your shin here and the glute maximus and medius are not causing the femur to kick back and be externally rotated with lower cross that lower cross think about it from the perspective of positioning lower cross means lower back so what we're looking at here from the hip joint is what we would say is it's flexed you can see here that by flex meaning that we're pulling basically almost like the torso downward and you know causing this little bit of a shift in angle from upper to lower body the pelvis is anteriorly tilted you can drastically see that this person you know they almost have like a shifted butt meaning that their their butt is looks like it's raised and it's and you start to see that angled down and then of course your lumbar spine has that shift of really drastic really really drastic concave type of you know basically bending in motion so you're overactive here your hip flexors because the front is pulling so heavy and then your lumbar extensors of your low back are very aggressive at that point as well what are underactive are your glutes your glute maximus medius your hamstrings and your abdomen and they're not strong enough to hold you back into that position so it's basically allowing you to fall forward all right so that's lower cross syndrome then upper cross syndrome now this is extremely exaggerated but you get the idea upper cross is upper back lower cross is lower back upper cross you have that a little bit more of that hunchback shape with a forward head position posture so what we have like we said here the thoracic spine or that mid spine t1 to 12 is what we would call excessive kyphosis or hunchback where that positioning is flexed okay the shoulders are protracted they're a little bit more like rotated forward okay rounded forward not rotated excuse me and there's some internal rotation or like a turning in and then the head and the neck is jutted forward it's not that you are in extension or flexion it's just the cervical spine moves in that way so what are your overactives in this case well your pecs your pecs are gonna pull those shoulders forward the levator scapula and the sternocleidomastoid which are in the front portion of your neck are pulling you pulling that neck forward and your upper traps again are the upper traps are gonna pull forward that's what's rounded shoulder this rounded upper back things that are under active your mid and lower traps down in the lower region and then your rhomboids and they they are basically weak so they're not able to pull that back into posture and then your deep cervical flexors that are deep within the muscles that are gonna flex the neck that are you know those are gonna be weak too so it basically allows for everything to flop forward okay so you have no neck control at that point and that's why the head wants to do what it wants to do so all those are characterized by where the location is pes plantus is in the you know that's not as easy to remember but understand that that pes plantus is all about the feet and the feet and the legs whereas lower cross is lower back and upper cross is our upper back excuse me upper crosses upper back all right so those are what we would look for first these are static positions meaning that you are gonna have a person stand in front of you and you're gonna be looking for these types of environment now some of them are exaggerated but there are conditions that are a little bit you know again this is why pictures really can do a service and one of the other things you want to make sure to appropriate clothing for this is really gonna make a difference so the tighter that the tighter the fit of the clothing the better you can see these shapes of the person's posture so you know unfort like for a guy having a guy wear solely a pair of shorts would help greatly to see everything now again it's based on comfort but it would definitely help females a sports bra a sports bra halter top tank top and then shorts also make a huge difference so that you can see these locations and the more drapier they are the harder it is to see the outline of the body so it's harder to see where the dysfunction lies so we observed static we want to move into movement now now these are dynamic posture this isn't about strength or push-pull this is more about we're gonna put your body through some motion well actually push-pull would be part of this but it's we're gonna get into just body motion first before we introduce equipment is more like what we want to say all right so the movements that we're gonna do include some balancing some squatting some pushing and some pulling and it's gonna go overhead squat single leg squat a pushing exercise and then a pulling exercise in that order overhead squat single leg squat pushing assessment pulling assessment and we want to see again those five kinetic chain points and from anterior posterior and lateral lateral views so your overhead squat there's the starting position here if you notice the palms are facing forward person is extended completely all right and then we're gonna move them through so pay attention to your starting points you know foot and ankle complex is neutral we don't want to have toes flared in or toes flared out you know we want to be able to have our arms completely overhead our elbows this is where it gets tricky some people can't get to this position but we want to be elbows fully extended to that person's limitations now myself I can't mine look like they're not fully extended but it's just my posture or my the way that my structure of my arms are it looks like I have a slight little bend but I don't it's fully extended so you have to be very clear to say okay extend your elbows you know do not lock them unless you're having you know only or if you do lock them only lock them to a very light position all right so that we can get to that overhead in the proper way now it says here shoes off are preferable and I agree with that I mean shoes and socks would be great but if you can get at least the shoes off and have socks only that's what we want to do because we want to see what the feet do when we go into that squatting motion okay so again squatting what is the main thing here I mean obviously this is the anterior view this is the lateral view you can do a posterior view if you'd like but for now what we're seeing here is that we want to make sure that the femur is parallel to the ground that's the key point that's gonna be something that you probably will be asked on in a test okay us but again squat depth depending upon who the person is can be reduced based on their you know their ability level and if maybe they've had a pre-existing injury or anything like that okay so what you're gonna have them do five reps five reps and the first rep might look really good the fifth rep might look a little bit more not so good and that's because the body is adjusting and letting itself kind of you know you're you're a relaxing a little bit more in the positioning and so that when you're relaxed more surprisingly enough the muscles that are imbalanced if they are are gonna move and move you and so when you have the final ending position and you're watching this person go through that final ending range of motion you're gonna see on that fifth rep where that person really is and what they're really doing instead of the first couple reps they're really trying to make sure they're doing the reps right so this is you know again your anterior view looking for some some negatives here feet turning out slightly that would indicate external rotation the knees feet turning out that that could also mean that you might start getting some varus or the knees coming out but for right now we're looking at the toes toes and knees for this one here and if you notice this person's you know again their head is not an optimal alignment their shoulders are not an optimal alignment so there's a lot going on there that we're seeing just from the front but we'll see it more from the lateral side all right lateral can't get into full depth you know they can't get the full they can't get the hips down and that affects that whole upper positioning they might be able to start getting to full depth but then their lower back starts rounding in the center and then the other one is going to be their arms falling forward so although this person in the center has low back arching their arms are still in alignment whereas this person their arms are falling even though they might be an optimal you know spinal alignment so we're always paying attention to those impairments at that point.
