Today’s video talks about the topic that many people have discussed, when it comes to chosing a partner, who cares more about looks? Men or women? I have my own thoughts about it but I’ll say those for the end of video. For now, let’s have a look at today’s featured sentence.

1. fertile [ˋfɝt!] (adj.) 多產、繁殖力強的；（動物或植物）可繁殖的，能生育的，能結果的 In the case of humans being fertile means being able to make babies, it applies to both men and women. A person who is more fertile is more likely to be able to have a baby. The term fertile can also be used to describe animals or plants.

2. masculine [ˋmæskjəlɪn] (adj.) 男子、陽剛的 Masculine means having characteristics that are traditionally thought to be typical or suitable for man.

3. feature [fitʃɚ] (n.) 特徵、特色 A feature is a typical quality or important part of something. In the case of this video, we’re talking about physical features that are affected a person’s appearance.

He has strong facial features with a slightly pointed(尖的) chin and strong cheek(顴骨) bones.

That brings us to the end of today’s pronunciation challenge. Personally, I think we need to be careful when *making sweeping assumptions(作出全面的假設) about one gender or another. A lot of things can influence a person including age, genetics, media, culture and personal experience. So if you would ask me: “Do man more care about looks?” I say that really depends on the man, and the woman is being compared, too. But that’s what I think, now I wanna hear what you think.
