同位語 apposition
in grammar, a situation in which two nouns or noun phrases are used to refer to the same person or thing.

In the expression "my brother Joe", "my brother" and "Joe" are in apposition.

My best friend, Lee, came to see me last night.

Jade Mountain, the highest mountain in Taiwan , is 3952 meters above sea level.
玉山，台灣最高峰，海拔高度是海平面上3952公尺

So if you use appositions in speech, be sure to pause(暫停) between two nouns or noun phrases or listeners will have hard time understanding you.
