For example, if I spend a lot of time to make a paper airplane that is supposed to fly for a long time but I haven't tested it yet. I can say that theoretically, this paper airplane can fly for a long time.

- Restrict means to keep something within certain limits. For example, if I hold your wrists tightly and don't let go. I'm restricting your movement. Or if I don't have a lot of money than my ability to spend is restricted.

* limit [ˋlɪmɪt] (n.) 限制
* curtail [kɝˋtel] (v.) 縮短；省略
* curb [kɝb] (v.) 裝上勒馬繩；控制

- In real life.
- practice and in practice means in real life or in actuality or in reality. And this would be the opposite of that word we just learned theoretically. So going back to the paper airplane from the previous example. I can say that theoretically, this plane can fly for a long time but in practice it didn't.

*The handmaid’s tale：侍女的故事，其中Gilead（基列國）為ㄧ虛構的極權國度，侍女被分為好幾個等級，沒有自由思想，總之實在太可怕的小說/電視劇plot⋯

This book is talking about a dystopia (反烏托邦）, where women have no power in society.

Dystopia is basically like the imaging future world where everything turned out to be bad(所有ㄧ切事物都變得不好）.

So this book just shows everybody about a possible future world where women have no rights and this book is really dark and has a lot of adult scenes in there.

And back then as a high school student, I didn’t really understand a lot of what this was talking about.

And when I grew older, I started to get appalled(震驚） to see this stuff and and I started to see a lot of the scenes of the book manifest (顯現）itself in the real world.

Regime is a government that is usually authoritarian(獨裁主義者的) and in other words, it is a government that has total control over people and it takes away people’s freedom.

Theoretically means something that is based on theory or what is supposed to happen rather than being based on actual, real-life testing(並非建立於真正的實測）.

Theoretically, this paper airplane can fly for a long time.理論上，這紙飛機可以飛很久。

To restrict to keep something within a certain limit.保持ㄧ個東西在某種限制內

For example, if I hold your wrists(手腕） tightly and don’t let you go, I restrict your movement（限制你的行動）.

If I don’t have a lot of money, then my ability to spend is restricted(受限的）.

In practice(實際上） means in real life/ in actuality/ in reality. This is the opposite of theoretically.
