有些批評者就提出:在所有我們製造出的塑膠類垃圾當中,吸管只佔了其中的一小部分而已。既然如此,大家何必要對吸管這麼有意見呢?
【心得】改用管狀餅乾當吸管,喝完飲料就可以順便吃掉了^^

That's very funny there is a pun in it
So we say why plastic straws suck. Suck means what are they bad but suck can also mean to suck a drink from a straw so it's very punny title.

1.1 critic [ˋkrɪtɪk] (n.) 評論家;持批評態度的人

Our first word is critic. A critic is a person who finds fault basically problems or who complains about something. An example sentence would be: Many people have complimented the community project but some critics question whether is sustainable. So in this example, the critics are questioning whether is the project is sustainable. So whether it can last for a long time. So while other people can complement the project, they might say: looks great. There might be some people who have deeper questioned about it or who find these faults or problems with it and these people would be called critics. And the word critic can have another meaning. It can mean a person who makes or gives kind of a judgment of the value, of the beauty, of the quality of something. For example, you might have heard a movie critic so that would be someone who judges movies. They might write about them or talk about them on TV or something like that. That would be a movie critic. Or you could have heard someone like an art critic and an art critic would judge art.

And when it comes to these titles of critics, they are usually professional. So their job is to judge these things.

1.2 criticize [ˋkrɪtɪ͵saɪz] (v.) 批評
Alright, our next word is related to critic and it is criticize. So criticize is a verb and it means to express disapproval of something or someone.Basically to talk about the problems or the faults of someone or something. An example sentence would be: customers criticized the company for its misleading advertisements. So in this example, customers are not happy about the company having misleading advertisements. So basically advertisements that are not completely true or a kind of treat these customers. So they criticized the company for these.
1.3 criticism [ˋkrɪtə͵sɪzəm] (n.) 批評
The next word is related to critic and criticize and it is criticism. So if you say something that is criticized in someone that thing you say would be considered criticism. An example sentence would be: Gray didn't take my criticism very well. So here Gray didn't like that I criticized him. He didn't like my criticism.
2.1 fraction [ˋfrækʃən] (n.) 小部分;碎片;分數
Alright, my next word is fraction. Fraction is a noun and this word is often mentioned when we talk about math. And in math, it's a number that represents one or more equal parts of a whole or a group. So one half or two thirds or something like that those are fractions. But in our sentence, it has a different meaning. It means a part or an amount of something and specifically, it means a little part.
So an example sentence would be: I bought this bag at a fraction of its original price. So this would mean the price that I bought this bag was very low. It was just a small amount, a small part of what the original price with been?
2.2 percentage [pɚˋsɛntɪdʒ] (n.) 百分率;部分
The next word is related to fraction and it is percentage. Percentage is a noun and it is also a part of a whole.
And in this case, it's part of a whole that's expressed in hundreds. So if you write percentage an number you might write like ninety percent that would be a percentage. But it can be also used in general just to mean a part of a whole. So an example sentence would be: Only a small percentage of students failed the test. So a small percentage here means a small amount of students compared to the full amounts students failed the test. And note here that when we use percentage like this we usually add a word in front of percentage to explain how large or small that percentage is. So in our sentence, we say: A small percentage of students and that shows as that only a small amount of students.
But when we use fraction we don't have to add anything so we can just say: a fraction of something. And when we say that we already know that were saying a small amount of something.

3.1 worked up (phr.) 激動的;生氣的

Our next vocab is worked up. Worked up is a phrase and it means very angry or excited or upset about something. An example sentence would be: Teddy got all worked up when I told him he had to leave apart.

3.2 bent out of shape (phr.) 非常生氣;非常沮喪

Our next vocab is related to this. It's bent out of shape. So bent out of shape is another phrase that means very angry or upset.

An example sentence would be: There is no need to get bent out of shape with it. It's not a big deal.

3.3 tizzy [ˋtɪzɪ] (n.) (短暫的)慌亂,緊張
Alright, and our last word is also related to this two phrase.
And it is tizzy, Tizzy is a temporary state of confusion or worry. And we often say someone got into a tizzy. And if we say that we mean they got very worried and confused basically they are panicking for a short amount of time. An example sentence would be: When I told Ella we're going to be late. She got into a tizzy.

Thanks Kelsi and every friend~

In my opinion, using the reusable shopping bag and environmentally friendly tableware is good ways.
However, reducing our unnecessary shopping of eco-unfriendly goods will be more efficient.

每次看環保相關的影片都會有深深的罪惡感。雖然已經習慣自備環保袋、餐具,以及避免使用吸管等其他一次性塑膠製品,卻還是無法過著完全沒有塑膠的生活。愛地球卻還是不能停止傷害地球,好無力啊...(越說越傷心來去角落蹲著了...)
