(How to Get Over Someone)
The way to unfixate is not to tell ourselves that we never like the person. It's to get very serious and specific about what the attraction was based on. And then come to see that the qualities we had admire in the ex, must necessarily exist in other people who don't have the set of problems that make the original relationship impossible.

The way to unfixate is not to tell ourselves that we never like the person; it's to get very serious and specific about what the attraction was based on, and then to come to see that the qualities we had admired in the ex must necessarily exist in other people who don't have the set of problems that make the original relationship impossible.

■fixate (on sth) [ˋfɪkset] 對…
■come to do sth
The way to unfixate is not to tell ourselves that we'd never liked the person. It's to get very serious and specific about what the attraction was based on and then to come to see that the qualities we had admired in the ex must necessarily exist in other people who don't have the set of problems that made the original relationship impossible.

Day 207

unfixate
ourselves
specific
the attraction
based on
qualities
in the ex
must necessarily exist
the original relationship

The way to unfixate // is not to tell ourselves // that we never like the person; // it's to get very serious and specific // about what the attraction // was based on, // and then to come to see that the qualities we admired in the ex // must necessarily exist in other people // who don't have the set of problems // that make the original relationship impossible.

背景歌曲Need You Now。

The way to unfixate // is not to tell ourselves // that we never like the person.

It's to get very serious and specific // about what the attraction // was based on.

And then TO come to see that the qualities we ADMIRED // in the ex, // must necessarily exist // in other people // who don't have the set of problems // that make the original relationship impossible.
