  • Hey Chef Kendra here and today we learn how to make chocolate cake. We have our ingredients

  • out. It seems like a lot of stuff but it s a really easy cake to put together. We are

  • going to start with shifting our flour and our cocoa powder. Now we are going to pour

  • our flour into a large bowl, then we are going to add our sugar to the bowl. Now we are going

  • to add our cocoa powder. OK, once all that stuff is in there we are going to mix it up

  • a bit. Be pretty gentle at this point. Now goes in our baking powder, and our baking

  • soda, and some salt. We going to mix it up a little more and then move on to the wet

  • stuff. In goes our eggs and they are room temperature. Pour in the vanilla extract.

  • Now the whole milk goes in, and finally our vegetable oil. Now once all the stuff is inside

  • we are going to blend our batter for a couple of minutes on medium. Now we are going to

  • pour a cup of boiling water into our batter and our stir it up well, don t use the electric

  • mixer for this or your batter is going to be all over the kitchen. Just stir it up with

  • a spoon until the water is mixed in. The batter will be extremely thin, however guy this is

  • what helps our cake stay moist. We are going to pour our batter into a bundt pan that has

  • been buttered and floured well. We have our oven preheated to 350 degrees. The link to

  • this recipe can be found in the About section below. OK, bake this for 45 minutes. On to

  • the chocolate frosting, we have powdered sugar here, now add the cocoa powder and sift this

  • into a medium bowl we don t want any lumps in our frosting do we guys? Now goes in some

  • melted butter, in goes some milk, and we are going to finish this off with our vanilla

  • extract. We are going to stir this to get it started then we are going to switch over

  • to the electric mixer so it will be nice and smooth. Our cake is ready; you can tell how

  • moist it is just by looking at it. We just going to use a silicone spatula top to loosen

  • up the sides because we don t want to damage our pan. Let it cool for 10 minutes before
