    • Now this one is actually not in itself a impolite word like if you're just saying talking like and and you'd like he actually did that he actually did that uh sh she actually jumped that's crazy like no no no no no no that's not that big of a deal but if someone says a sentence or like a fact and then you follow it up by looking at them and going well actually actually that is an immediate contradiction and if it's in a debate it's one thing but in a normal conversation if you someone says something and you say actually and then say you know a phrase after that they're immediately might be a little put off because they're basically going to feel like okay well they just immediately contradicted my sentence immediately they didn't throw out their opinion or throw out well you know it seems uh you know I've heard differently no they were straight up like well actually you're wrong I'm right that's how that come across that's number one that's something that you can use once again and this is more leniency than the other ones but would not recommend it right after someone says a statement because it does come off as like well actually I'm right you're wrong right so actually I'm going to say hey you know this guy is blue actually it's red okay you just immediately contradicted me there was no question in there there was no debate it was simply I'm right you're wrong that's how that come across number two and I want to say I want to I want to I want to preface it with this right number two is my personal favorite and the one I hate the most being said to me okay this is the most egregious in my opinion and that one sounds super polite but it really isn't and that one being no offense but no offense but the second someone says that they say no offense but everyone in the room takes fucking offense every single person because no offense but does not mean you're not actually offending someone it means you're about to say something really offensive or it's implying you're about to say something offensive offensive and even if it's not offensive it's you're you're trying to mean it offensive and so you feel the need to preface it with no offense but to try and dull the offensiveness that you intended that's how that comes across so to to so to to make this more clear basically if you're saying something that's not offensive there's no need for no offense but and everybody knows that whether or not it was intended when it was originally created to to to make people feel like there was no offense that is not how it is now like anyone in America if you say no offense but to they're going to assume the next thing you're going to say is super offensive and you're trying to offend them and even if even if what they end up say you end up saying is not offensive they're going to think of it as offensive or think how could this be offensive because to them you basically are trying to soften the blow of offending them by saying no offense but nobody thinks this is no longer offensive when you say no offense but it's quite the contrary it makes it worse number three is with all due respect so I use this one a lot and I'm going to I'm going to I'm going to out myself real quick I use a lot of these a lot like I said pre primarily I don't use them with for everybody obviously I don't use them in every conversation but once again I am a very blunt person so if we are having a conversation and I have a conversation with someone who is actually a dick or who's actually you know being snarky or sarcastic I will be snarky or sarcastic back it's just like that whether it be actually they are a being they're actually a mean person or or and and they're being disrespectful or they're just one of my friends and I'm talking shit to them because I do talk shit to my friends I just do we have that relationship you know I love to you know you know chide my friends they love to you know insult me back and stuff so so whether it be just as a joke to my friends or whether it be to um someone who is actually snarky when I say this the purpose is to actually offend right you know with all due respect with all due respect now I think sometimes this can be kind of played so it doesn't sound disrespectful but for the most part if people are like with all due respect you suck okay well you just said I suck it doesn't matter that you put with all due respect in front of it it's the same principle as no offense but with all due respect um fuck you okay well you just said fuck you that sucks uh it doesn't matter that you put with all due respect in front of it people are still going to take offense people are still going to feel like disrespectful in fact once again and and I can't say this enough it almost feels like these phrases make things more disrespectful because you're kind of like really hammering in the fact you're going to say something disrespectful and you're going to try and make yourself sound like a good person or make yourself sound like uh you're not disrespectful and and and I'm going to take that my previous statement you can be a good person and say and say these phrases once again I agree I think 100% you just got to say them in the right context right some some you know fast food worker is being super sweet and nice to you you're not going to be like no offense but I like your hair like what or no offense but your hair sucks like what you're not going to like they're a service worker they're helping you you're like that's just a dick move to say that that's not polite we we treat our workers with with respect right you know so that's not what you do right um you treat service workers with respect that's not what you're going to do but if you're literally talking to some asshole who for example is insulting a a service worker you could be like no offense buddy but you're an asshole and you know I think that's a perfectly respectable thing to say and honestly I think that is a you are still a good person for saying that so uh it doesn't mean you're a bad person obviously um but I'm just saying that you know uh it will be perceived as you are offending someone or you're trying to be uh a lot of the time that you're trying to be disrespectful or you're about to be disrespectful and trying to soften the blow of being disrespectful by preceding it with with all due respect now once again this one is not quite as crazy as no offense but that one is like almost all the time like almost 100% track record of they will think they will be offended by that now with all due respect is different a little bit different um you can say it I I think you can say it in some more contexts where it kind of sounds uh especially when you're just honestly having a respectful debate with someone it sounds completely different you know you're actually debating them you're just saying your opinion that's one thing but what is a normal conversation and someone says something you're like with all due respect that sounds not respectful contrary to how it sounds love English it's not fucking confusing at all anyways.
