I got from the first three chapters is how I'm f***ed, and how my being f***ed is leading to deeper levels of f***ery. The chapters aren't entirely doom and gloom, though, as they suggest a few strategies to healthfully integrate and how to satisfy our needs for safety, connection, and self-esteem. Which sounds great, but there's solutions to be worked on, which will take time.
