Why am I not working at Netflix already?! You’re telling me I can take vacation whenever and however much I want?! Yes, there are definitely pros and cons to everything but I would say there have to be more pros when it comes to vacation, am I right?! Hi everyone, it’s Hubert with Pronunciation Challenge and I just wanted to say that I believe the typical 9-5 model doesn’t always work for every industry. Of course, it matters for things like travel, transportation, and hospitals. Generally, things that need to be on time. However, when it comes to creativity, that’s where you can be more flexible. Have you ever tried taking a walk when you were stressed out and came up with a great idea as you were taking that walk? That’s because your mind is stress- free and not distracted. Netflix approaches this philosophy in the same way. Netflix is all about innovation (new ideas) and how to develop more of it! It’s a really interesting video and I’m excited for you guys to watch it.

Would this system even work in Asia? I have my doubts but perhaps some of you listeners have access to unlimited vacation as well? If so, do let me know where I can apply! Isn’t there an overtime culture in some parts of Asia? I heard that even though you’re supposed to get off at a certain time, you don’t leave unless the boss leaves in order to “look” like you’re a hard worker. I have my opinion about that but I’ll just keep it to myself. Growing up in Canada, we do things differently and there are some customs that I’ll never get accustomed to living overseas. I’m not saying which country is right or wrong. I’m just saying they’re different. Here’s a popular idiom for you guys. “Different strokes for different folks.” It means different things appeal to different people.
