0:28 If you saw today’s title you might be thinking, “Aw, marketing(n.行銷)? Really, Wen? Look, I’m not a marketing major(專業,主修學生n.) and I don’t have an entrepreneurial(/ˌɑːn.trə.prəˈnʊr.i.əl/企業家的a.) spirit(n.精神), contrary(/ˈkɑːn.trɚ.i/相對的a.) to how it’s almost expected of everyone to have one these days. So, no, thank you. Not interested in marketing whatsoever(/ˌwɑːt.soʊˈev.ɚ/=whatever無論如何).” Well, I say that’s fair, but here’s my argument(論據n.): Marketing can be personal. It doesn’t always have to be about a business. You can market yourself. Whenever you’re going in for an interview, when you’re finding a partner or a new friend. You’re marketing yourself, right? Differentiating(/ˌdɪf.əˈren.ʃi.eɪtɪŋ/a. 戰略) and SWOT analysis(n.分析) feel more relevant(/ˈrel.ə.vənt/a.切題的) now, don’t they? As our video points out this core(a.核心的) idea in marketing and it’s also our sentence of the day: It's all about standing out(顯眼,突出) from the crowd(n.群眾), which can be vital(a.重要的) for the success of your business. After all(畢竟), if your potential(/poʊˈten.ʃəl/潛在的a.) customers don't know you exist(/ɪɡˈzɪst/存在v.), how can they(指customers) be expected(被預期的) to buy from you?

+ SWOT  :
優勢(Strengths)

1. vital /ˈvaɪ.t̬əl/ adj. 必不可少的;極其重要的 = necessary for the success or continued existence of something; extremely important

Footnotes(備註n.): Synonyms(同義詞): important, crucial

Being hydrated([ˋhaɪdretɪd]a.攝入足夠水分的) is vital for your overall(a.整體的) health, so you better make sure you keep tabs on your water intake.

+ keep tabs on sth/sb : 密切注意…的動態
= to watch something or someone carefully
I like to keep tabs on my bank account so that I don't spend too much.

2.1 potential UK /pəˈten.ʃəl/ US /poʊˈten.ʃəl/ adj. 潛在的,可能的= possible when the necessary conditions exist

2.2 potential (n.)
I see the potential in…
I can’t believe she’s gone. She had so much potential.

3 exist /ɪɡˈzɪst/ v. 存在;實際上有 = to be, or to be real

existence /ɪɡˈzɪs.təns/ n.
+ Many people question(v.懷疑) the existence of God.

extinct /ɪkˈstɪŋkt/ adj.
+There is concern that the giant panda will soon become extinct.

Dean believes that supernatural(/ˌsuː.pɚˈnætʃ.ɚ.əl/超自然的a.) beings(生命,生物n.) exist and that they are to be exterminated(/ɪkˈstɝː.mə.neɪt/v.

+ exterminate /ɪkˈstɝː.mə.neɪt/ v.
Once cockroaches get into a building, it's very difficult to exterminate them.

And would you look at the time! It really flies(時光飛逝). One big aspect(/ˈæs.pekt/n.層面) of marketing, in my opinion, is about selling stories(販賣你的故事). So get out there you crazy people and sell your story - stories that are true to you and represent(/ˌrep.rɪˈzent/v.代表) you. Check out the video to learn more about marketing and don’t forget to leave your comments and recordings below. Introduction
What’s new, VoiceTubers?

If you saw today’s title you might be thinking, “Aw, marketing? Really, Wen? Look, I’m not a marketing major and I don’t have an entrepreneurial spirit, contrary to how it’s almost expected of everyone to have one these days. So, no, thank you. Not interested in marketing whatsoever.”

My argument: Marketing can be personal. It doesn’t always have to be about a business. You can market yourself. Whenever you’re going in for an interview, when you’re finding a partner or a new friend. You’re marketing yourself. Differentiating strategies and SWOT analysis feel more relevant now, don’t they?

As our video points out this core idea in marketing and it’s also our sentence of the day:

It's all about standing out from the crowd, which can be vital for the success of your business. After all, if your potential customers don't know you exist, how can they be expected to buy from you?

- experienced as a result of watching, listening to, or reading about the activities of other people, rather than by doing the activities yourself
