Today is the first day of 2021, how exciting it is, right? Well, at least, I’m excited, because a new year means a whole new start. Therefore, when a new year starts, people usually like to make new year’s resolutions. What about you? Are you one of those people who make new year’s resolutions every year? For me, I’m not this type of person, but maybe I can try to make one this year. Today’s video is narrated([næˋret]v.講述) by a lovely little girl, in fact, she melts my heart. Though she is only 4, her ideas of new year’s resolutions are worth(a.值得的) thinking. Alright, let’s see what she says in the video: Keep your resolutions but go easy on yourself. Will you change? Maybe, but it probably won’t happen in one big moment, it’ll happen in thousands of little moments.

*Go easy on her, she is having a hard time since she divorced her husband recently.

3. thousand [ˈθaʊzənd] (n.)一千
*thousands of = a thousand of = a large number of 很多的，大量的，數以千計的
-> I’m under lots of pressure because there are thousands of missions waiting for me to complete.
-> I’ve listened to her complaining about her husband for a thousand times.

Alright, Happy New Year guys! And that’s all for today’s pronunciation challenge. Today is the first day of 2021, and have you made your new year’s resolutions yet? If you have, complete them step by step without hurry(n.匆忙) because just the little girl in the video says: Changes don’t happen in one moment but in thousands of little moments. And if you haven’t made one yet, that’s fine, you can take your time to think of one. Anyways, stick to your resolutions, and keep moving on.
