I usually have a hard time going to bed early on Sundays, and therefore I couldn’t wake up on time for work the next day. I’m sure many of you whether you’re a student or an office worker share a similar experience. Fortunately, we have a solution, coffee, my most loyal friend, my knight in shining armor, coffee comes to the rescue. Saving me from dozing off(打瞌睡) at my desk. I couldn’t live without coffee. If I’ve left alone on a deserted island, the first thing I’ll bring is coffee. I’m willing to do anything for you as long as you bring me a cup of that dark, bitter beverage. So this video is actually my nightmare, I cannot even imagine a day without coffee let alone(更別說) a week. But I will say one thing, I only have one full cup per day in the morning or the afternoon. So I’m not exactly like the speaker in the video who’s a true coffee addict([ˋædɪkt] n.成癮者). Anyway, the speaker is courageous([kəˋredʒəs]a.勇敢的) enough to do this experiment. Halfway through the video, she says something that strike my chord(引起共鳴), and this’s our sentence of the day. ‘And then I want it immediately after lunch, ‘cause I eat too much and I make myself tired that way, so I’ve gotta combat with another cup of coffee’. Honestly, this happens to me all the time. What about you? Do you need coffee to wake you up? And now, let’s move on to our pronunciation of the day.
