But now, I go to bed thinking of the positive. But also, I notice them during the day. I say, that’s gonna make the journal. In that moment. =============== Hello, VoiceTubers! This’s Nina. Just for you an information, Lian and I will take turns for Friday’s pronunciation challenge from now on. Please continue to support us! Now today is November eighth(8th) and I’m very excited ‘cause my birthday is coming soon. November is my favorite month not only because I was born in November, but also because many of my friends are also celebrating their birthdays this month. Most importantly, the weather in November is perfect, not too cold, not too hot, and not too rainy. The only downside of this month is the midterm exam and I don’t even want to talk about it.
Anyways, since my birthday is coming, I chose this video for my selfish motives. In the past few months, many of my friends are having a hard time dealing with either their work, life, or study. And I felt it helpless because I couldn’t give them any good advice or constructive help. Then this video came my way, Miss Sheryl Sandberg share that after her husband passed away, she started keeping a journal to help her go through the tragedy. Oprah Winfrey also share that by trying to write down the good and joyful things happen in our lives, we will start to discover the goddess around us. Life can be very tough sometimes, and we cannot just escape from those difficulties. But remember there’re still wonderful things and supportive people out there, don’t ignore them. To me dearest friends and everyone who is listening to this episode. If you’re feeling really down and depressed recently, maybe you can try to start a journal([ˋdʒɝn!] n.日記). I hope everything will get better for you soon.
Now let’s get back to today’s sentence. “ Before this, I used to go to bed every night worrying about what I did wrong and what I was gonna mess up the next day. But now, I go to bed thinking of the positive. ”
1-1. used to 過去經常;過去習慣 * I used to call my best friend once a week. Now we just text each other whenever we want.
+ be used to (現在)習慣於 + She is quite used to hard work.
2-2. get used to sth./sb. 習慣於某人事物 * I just can’t get used to how fast Russian people speak.
2-1. worry [ˋwɝɪ] (v.)擔心;憂慮 * to worry about sth./sb. * You need to stop worrying about what people think of you and just be yourself.
2-2. no worry 沒關係;不用擔心 A: Oh my god! I forgot to water the plants. B: No worries! I’m sure they can survive a day without water.
3-1. mess up 搞砸;把⋯弄髒弄亂 * I accidentally dropped the cake on the floor and messed up the whole birthday party. * My cat is really naughty, she messes up my room every time I go out.
3-2. messy [ˋmɛsɪ] adj. 凌亂的;髒的 + The children really enjoy messy play.
3-3. mess up = screw up * There won’t be a third chance. Don’t screw up this time.
4-1. positive [ˋpɑzətɪv] (n.)正面 * While you’re casting a Patronus charm, try to focus on the positive. + Patronus 護法 + charm 符咒
4-2. positive [ˋpɑzətɪv] (adj.)積極的;懷有希望的 * We all prefer spending time with positive people.
And that’s all for today. I strongly recommend you to watch this video. If you’re using the web, just click the link under the sentence. And if you’re using the app, there’s a play symbol at the upper right corner, click it and it’ll take you to the video.
Today’s sentence is a little bit fast but the words are not too long or complicated, so maybe some of you can try to increase your speed. Share this episode to your friends and family. And give me a thumbs up if you also know anyone (was) born in November or you were born in November.
Do you have the habit of writing a journal or diary([ˋdaɪərɪ]日記)? If you do, leave a comment below and tell us how long you have been doing it. I”ll see you in two weeks, bye!

Thank you, Nina.
