We are looking at the video where different people were given USD 100 and they were free to spend it on whatever they wanted in a grocery store, which is an interesting experiment and I think that when people went through the experiment really revealed their financial situation.
Because you can see some of the people use the USD 100 to buy stuff like were really essential for life. For example, fruits and vegetables, toilet paper, cooking oil and stuff like that.
While some of the others use the USD 100 buy stuff like wine and beer, stuff like were more towards the luxurious side of things. And you can see that they were better off financially(他們財務上比較好).
TV dinner are those microwaveable dinner(可微波的晚餐)that you can put it in the freezer and when you want to eat it, you just take it out , microwave it and you can eat it.
This is the stuff that I ate all through my college years(整個大學期間在吃的東西). So this is basically what I did few years back.

Frivolous means having little practical value. Being unnecessarily fancy.

* buck [bʌk] (n.) 元
- The word Buck has a few different meanings but in this passage, it's a slang term. It's a slang term for dollar and so instead of saying give me $5 you can say give me five bucks. This is actually very informal so it's used in casual speech only. So this is not a word you would use it with your teacher but you can use it with a friend.

Cause it's pink and pink is your favorite color right and you bring it home while your parents are probably going to be saying that your frivolous spenders and that you should save your money instead. Or if I spend money to get my iPhone coded in purple or something that would also be kind of frivolous. Cuz these actions have no real value and it's only done cuz I want to be fancy.
