我們為了種種的理由而看小說：為了找點樂子，為了找出故事裡的真兇，為了想飛到陌生的新星球去旅遊，為了想被嚇一下，為了想開懷大笑，為了想大哭一場，為了想動腦思考，為了想感受一下，為了沉浸於故事當中而暫時忘卻自己身在何處。
【心得】我比較適合看影片，因為影片可以快轉，看書我專注力低，又無法速讀，要看到很久才看得完，而且分次看，其實都會看到後面，忘了前面的內容(金魚腦的宿命> <)。

前陣子偶然看到《Legend of the Condor Heroes》，驚嚇地從椅子上摔下來!
之後還會有《The Return of the Condor Heroes》、《Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre》!!
感覺金庸的世界對英語讀者而言太難理解了，不可能翻譯!!!
但反過來想，魔戒三部曲都翻成中文了，射鵰三部曲為何不能?
《Nine Yin Manual》看完一定功力大增(((°▽°)))

- Science Fiction and fantasy are the most popular genres in fiction.
+ 科幻小說和幻想是小說中最受歡迎的類型。

* entertain [ɛntɚ'ten] (v.) 使有興趣；使快樂：款待
- To keep people enjoying themselves.
- The book or the film is very entertaining.
- Are there any entertaining things to do for this weekend?
+ 這個週末有什麼有趣的事情要做嗎？

3. _
* absorb [əb'zɔrb] (v.) 吸收；理解；使全神貫注
- You can say human brain absorbs things. Just like kids can absorb whatever they hear quickly. They still got the languages like sponges they absorb new information like sponges.
* be absorbed in [bi əb'zɔrb ɪn] (.) 被…吸引住；全神貫注於
- I was so absorbed in my work that I lost track of time.
+ 我非常專注於工作，以至於忘記了時間。
* absorbing [əb'zɔrbɪŋ] (adj.) 引人入勝的
- It means something that is so interesting that is fully taking someone's attention.
- This book is very absorbing it has absorbing plots.
+ 這本書非常吸引人，它有吸引人的情節。

I used to read novel to be immersed in the fictional world, but now I prefer the books more psychological or educational to build up a good habit or boost my grit to conquer life challenge.

The most recognized authority(recap: 被認可的權威) in this filed of creativity and imaginary world.

Science fiction(科幻小說；Sci-fi) and fantasy (奇幻)are the most popular genres (類)in fiction.

What’s your favorite literary genre: chick lit(女性文學), horror, crime etc.?

Are there any entertaining things to do for this weekend?

Plants absorb nutrients and water(吸收養份和水) through their roots.

The trees absorb carbon dioxide(二氧化碳).

Kids can absorb whatever they hear quickly like sponges(海棉).

Part from that, we can use “absorb” to describe a very focused state of mind(非常全神貫注的狀態).

I was so absorbed in (太專注於）my work that I lost track of time（忘了時間）.

lose track of time 忘記時間
lose track 意思是失去…的線索、軌跡，所以和誰失聯也可以說lose track of sb. 什麼東西搞丟了也可以說lose track of sth.
E.g. Every time she walks into an outlet store, she somewhat loses track of time.例子可能就是我。

This book has absorbing plots(有引人入勝的情節), and I just can’t put this book down.
