四旬齋前,是著名的俄羅斯傳統節日-謝肉節(Maslenitsa),另稱送冬節,起源于多神教時期的春耕節。在約2、3月的一週,人們會烹製名為blini的金黃色薄餅,象徵太陽,燒掉象徵冬天的稻草人,當然也有舞蹈、歌唱、體育等慶典活動,人群喧鬧、演奏著各種民俗樂器,興高采烈的迎接春天、以及新年的到來。
