One Sunday morning the warm sun came up and - pop! - out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar.

He started to look for some food.

他開始尋找食物。

On Monday he ate through one apple. But he was still hungry.

On Tuesday he ate through two pears, but he was still hungry.

星期二，他吃掉了兩個梨，但他仍然很餓。

On Wednesday he ate through three plums, but he was still hungry.

星期三，他吃掉了三個李子，但他仍然很餓。

On Thursday he ate through four strawberries, but he was still hungry.

星期四，他吃掉了四個草莓，但他仍然很餓。

On Friday he ate through five oranges, but he was still hungry.

星期五，他吃完了五個橘子，但他仍然很餓。

On Saturday he ate through one piece of chocolate cake, one ice-cream cone, one pickle, one slice of Swiss cheese, one slice of salami,

星期六，他吃掉了一塊巧克力蛋糕、一個冰淇淋筒、一根醃黃瓜、一片瑞士奶酪和一片臘腸、

one lollipop, one piece of cherry pie, one sausage, one cupcake, and one slice of watermelon.

一根棒棒糖、一塊櫻桃派、一根香腸、一個紙杯蛋糕和一片西瓜。

That night he had a stomachache.

那天晚上，他肚子疼。

The next day was Sunday again.

第二天又是星期天。

The caterpillar ate through one nice green leaf,

毛毛蟲吃掉了一片漂亮的綠葉、

and after that he felt much better.

之後，他感覺好多了。

Now he wasn't hungry any more -- and he wasn't a little caterpillar any more. He was a big, fat caterpillar.

現在他不再飢餓，也不再是一隻小毛毛蟲了。 他是一隻又大又肥的毛毛蟲。

He built a small house, called a cocoon, around himself. He stayed inside for more than two weeks.

他在自己周圍建了一個小房子，叫做 "繭"。他在裡面呆了兩個多星期。

Then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon, pushed his way out and...

然後他在繭上咬了一口，擠了出來，然後...

He was a beautiful butterfly!

他是一隻美麗的蝴蝶！
