Usually, I take a look at the big, beefy, gaming rigs.

So sure, it's great to have a lot of graphics,

horsepower, and a ton of storage,

however, sometimes, I like to take a look at

So this is a complete mini-PC.

Or at least it says that on the box.

This is an Intel NUC.

這是Intel 推出的 NUC（Next Unit of Computing，次世代電腦？）

So this is about the cheapest version of

這應該是市面上的NUC之中，

the NUC that you can buy that's ready to go out of the box.

最便宜的版本，而且你一拆開就可以用。

However, there are different models that are even cheaper,

其實還有些更便宜的型號，

if you don't mind supplying your own drive and Windows,

但那就看你介不介意自己裝硬碟和Windows。

or if you need more power,

或者如果你想要更強的配置，

you can also get these things with Core i3s and Core i5s.

你還可以買台裝有Intel Core i3跟i5的。

So inside the box, we get the NUC itself.

然後開箱看看，就是NUC的本體。

So, these are really helpful little computers.

其實這種是很有用的電腦，

So as you can see, it is actually really tiny.

大家都看得出吧，這電腦真的很小。

I mean, it really does fit in the palm of your hand.

The idea here is that this is really meant

for more basic tasks, such as Excel or web-browsing,

but I'm curious what we can actually do with it.

It also comes with a VESA mount,

so, because this is so small,

in theory you could just pop this

right onto the back of a monitor.

We also have a pretty small power adapter.

Alongside that we have all the different

international adapters,

depending on what country you're from.

And that's pretty much it for the actual unboxing.

Take a look around the NUC,

and you'll see it's a pretty cool little piece of tech.

Up front we have a pair of USB 3 ports,

one of which will charge your devices

是那種能用來替其他裝置充電的USB，

even when the NUC is off.

就算NUC關掉後也能用。

And on back, you have two more USB ports,

you have optical/3.5 audio out, a VGA port,

Gigabit Ethernet, as well HDMI.

And what's cool about this is that's HDMI 2.0,

which means that this tiny little PC

can do 4k 60 hertz output.

So what's nice about the NUC

那這NUC有甚麼好的呢？

is it really is just so portable.

就真的是很便於攜帶。

So inside my bag here,

所以在這背包裏面，

I have everything I need for a full desktop setup.

就可以放得下一整台電腦。

So, I have a wireless keyboard with a trackpad

然後 我有個帶觸控板的無線鍵盤，

as well as all the stuff I need to

以及所有這台

actually get the NUC up and running,

NUC運作的所需配件，

which includes the tiny power adapter

當中也包括了這小小的電源轉換器

and the NUC itself.

和NUC電腦本身。

Inside the NUC,

在這NUC裏面呢，

it's rocking an Intel Celeron J3455 Quad Core processor,

它用上了Intel Celeron J3455 四核心處理器，

two gigabytes of memory and 32 gigs of storage.

2GB的RAM跟32GB存儲空間。

Now, that might not sound like a lot,

可能，這聽起來不怎麼厲害，

however, not only can you upgrade

可是，你不單止可以

to those core i3 and i5 models

升級升i3或i5型號，

if you do need more horsepower,

如果你要這種運算能力的話。

but on top of that, you can easily upgrade this guy

with additional RAM and storage.

So the NUC is meant to be fairly easy to open.

If you get a Bare Bones version,

you actually have to open it up

to put things in like memory and a hard drive,

but even this one,

even though it is pretty much ready to go out of the box,

If you take the four screws on the bottom out,

you have access to the two and half inch drive bay.

Below that, not only can you get at the WiFi card,

which this already has installed,

but also the memory.

So this NUC has two gigs of RAM pre-installed.

這台NUC買回來的時候有2GB RAM，

However, it's easy enough to just pop this out

and upgrade it with four or even eight gigabytes no problem.

然後升級成4GB，甚至8GB都沒有問題。

So since this guy only has 32 gigs of storage built in,

那因為這個東西本來只有32GB空間，

it's easy enough to just throw in an SSD

其實你可以很容易的換個SSD，

or in fact, just any kind of regular hard drive.

或者其實，任何普通硬碟。

So all you need to do is just line it up

你要做的就是對準，

and it should pretty much click right into place.

然後就可以「卡」一聲的把它裝好。

As simple as that we have upgraded our NUC

with a full SSD!

And now all you have to do is

just screw the top panel back on,

and we're up and running.

So, while the NUC might not be

the most powerful PC in the world,

it actually can handle some light gaming

such as Minecraft.

So we're averaging around 40 or 50 frames per second here.

Now, no, we're not ready to play

Crisis on ultimate settings,

however, as long as you keep in mind

that this is a $200 mini-PC

that actually can handle some light gaming.

它還真的能玩點低需求遊戲。

Now, on top of that,

you can actually upgrade the performance a little bit

你也其實能再提升一下效能，

by adding an additional DIMM of RAM.

裝多條RAM應該就可以。

It might not make a huge difference,

but by running this thing in dual channel,

you should get a little bit more performance out of it.

Something else you can do with the NUC is game stream.

另外一件你能做的事情，就是遊戲串流。

It has dual band AC Wi-Fi,

它裝有雙頻的AC Wi-Fi，

which means that even if you don't

have it connected via ethernet,

沒插網線，

it should be fairly easy to stream

從家裏其他裝置

from other devices in your house,

串流也應該沒甚麼問題，

such as an XBOX One.

比如是從XBOX One。

Oh, too far around, too far around!

Fortress可能不是最大需求的遊戲，

Oh, yeah!

就算是有點廷遲，

(laughing)

但其實也沒有很差。

So Fortress might not be the most demanding game

雖然我是用最高設定去沖流，

as far as latency goes,

但這也不會跟我在XBOX One

but it's actually not bad here.

上玩的實際畫面一樣的清晰好看。

So while I'm streaming on very high settings,

但這機器能放在我家裏任何一個角落，

it's not quite as crisp as I was playing

就算，例如說我在後面有台XBOX，

on an actual XBOX One.

但可能放了在別的房間，

But the thing is this could be anywhere in my house.

所以這NUC可以是獨立的遊戲電腦。

So even though I, for example, have the XBOX behind me,

這用起來其實不錯。

this could be in another room altogether

這NUC是挺Cool的小型電腦。

and the NUC could be a separate gaming setup.

如果你想要台電腦 用作家庭影院，

It works pretty well.

想要台比較容易攜帶的電腦，

The NUC is a pretty cool little PC.

或者只是不想要那麼大一台電腦

So whether you want something that's for a home theater use,

去做些像上網之類的基本東西，

you want something that's a little bit portable,

這樣NUC可能值得留意一下。

or you just don't need a giant desktop
