Intro Hello VoiceTubers! I am Mia. In the course of learning languages, I think the most difficult part is learningto learn how to speak. The speaking I mean here is not just reading out loud, but is to be spontaneous enough to have a conversation with others naturally. Do you also feel that way? Let's get back to the topic at the end of today’s episode. Now, follow me to see the sentence first.

2. selective (a) 有選擇的; 嚴格篩選的KK[səˋlɛktɪv] IPA /səˈlek.tɪv/ Def: intentionally choosing some things and not others This prestigious university has a highly selective admission process. 這所著名的大學對於有著相當嚴格的錄取標準。

Outro In the very beginning, for me, it is a little bit challenging to have a conversation with native speakers. When I was in senior high, I took part in an activity in which I had to team up with several American students to finish a task. Initially, it was hard for me to follow up with what they were talking about, because they spoke quite fast, needless to say, to have a complete conversation with them. While I think everything relied on acquaintances, like when you listen to how they talk more and more times and tried to speak up more often, you’ll find out it’s not that your English sucks so you cannot understand them, but it is just the way they speak is different from the ones that appear in your English listening practice, and the dialogues are also not that straightforward and programmed as in textbooks.
