Intro:
Hi, everyone. I’m Tera, and this is VoiceTube’s Pronunciation Challenge. Just as what the title of this episode shows, today we’re going to talk about a few reasons that you might not have to be a veggie anymore in the future. A study conducted by Harvard medical school demonstrates that people become vegetarian for several reasons, including health, religious convictions, concerns about animal welfare or the use of antibiotics and hormones in livestock, or a desire to eat in a way that avoids excessive use of environmental resources. If not killing animals just to eat them is your rule, you might want to take a look at this video. Well, as technology advances, we are now able to eat meat that is animal-free and death free.

Featured sentence: They, too, take the cells of milk and reproduce them in their own way to create unlimited amounts of milk that is chemically the same as cow milk.

Tips:
1. cells: only one syllable. "c" will be pronounced as /s/.
3. reproduce: three syllables with the stress on the third one. Notice that the vowel of the second syllable "pro" is reduced, so it will be "prə". Together, "re-pro-duce".
4. unlimited: four syllables with the stress on the second one. "ed" here is pronounced as an extra syllable. Kind reminder: if the verb base ends in a "t" or "d" sound already, then the –ed ending sounds like "ɪd" or "əd".
4. chemically: four syllables with the stress on the first one. "ch" here is a /k/ sound. Therefore, the whole word is "che-mi-ca-lly".

Vocab:
1. reproduce (v.) KK [͵riprəˋdjus] IPA /ˌriː.prəˈduːs/
def: (of living things) to produce a new living thing of the same type as itself
繁殖;生殖;複製
Plants rely on their seeds to reproduce.
植物仰賴其種子繁殖。

2. unlimited (adj.) KK [ʌnˋlɪmɪtɪd] IPA /ʌnˈlɪm.ɪ.t̬ɪd/
def: not limited
無限制的;無邊無際的
The ocean is glittering under the unlimited sky.
海洋在無邊無際的天空下閃閃發光著。

3. chemically (adv.) KK [ˈkemɪkli] IPA /ˈkem.ɪ.kəl./
def: in a way that relates to or is caused by chemicals
在化學上
Near the chemical plants, the river was chemically polluted.
靠近化工廠,這條河遭受化學污染。

Outro:
I am not a veggie, but still, knowing that we can take in the same amount of nutrients and enjoy good flavors without having to harm animals gets me really excited. I mean, how fantastic it would be that we can embrace tasty food and save most animals at the same time. Alrighty, that is all for today’s episode. And, as usual, remember to get your recordings done before leaving. If you haven’t done it yet, click on the recording button and join us right now. This is Tera from VoiceTube. I wish you a wonderful day. See you next time.

☺They, too, take the cells of milk and reproduce them in their own way to create unlimited amounts of milk that is chemically the same as cow milk.
他們也是提取牛奶的細胞,然後用自己的方式來進行繁殖,創造出無限量的牛奶,而且其中的化學成分與母牛的牛奶都一樣。
【心得】如果人的血液也可以比照辦理,大量製造,以後醫院就不用擔心缺血的問題了。
■reproduce [͵riprəˋdjus] (vi.&vt.)複製;翻印;複寫;生殖;生育;繁殖
(vt.)重演;翻拍;(在腦中)再現(過去的情景等);使重現;重做;再生產;再生長(器官)
■unlimited [ʌnˋlɪmɪtɪd] (adj.)無限制的;無邊無際的、不定的、遼闊的;無數的;無限量的;無條件的、無例外的
■chemically [ˈkɛmɪklɪ] (adv.)在化學上;用化學;以化學方法
