More often than not, we tend to doubt our own abilities and we settle for less. Settling for less means you choose to settle for less than what you truly deserve. For example in a relationship, if your partner is often rude, disrespectful, and perhaps even verbally or physically abusive, but you stay together because you are afraid to be lonely and think that you might not find someone better. A sign that you’re settling for less is that you cannot be your authentic self when you’re with your partner. Here is a list I found online which I really like. It’s a list of valuable advice from older women to all younger women. Let me share these with you.

1. Stop comparing yourself with other girls. There will always be someone prettier or smarter. Your value doesn’t decrease just because someone else cannot see your uniqueness.

2. Don’t waste too much time on people who don’t cherish you. Learn to love yourself. Flowers are perishable but self-love is not.

3. Read and travel more to feed your soul. Keep in mind that beauty will fade but wisdom will stay.

4. Celebrate all your achievements AND failures. It is the ups and downs that prove you’ve truly lived.

5. “No” is a complete sentence. You don’t have to justify every decision you make and ask for others’ approval.

6. Stop to admire the little things in life no matter how busy you are. Always work to live, not live to work.

Bear in mind, the above-mentioned actually apply to any person, not just the women.

Learn to love and believe in yourself. Don’t let other people underestimate you.
