【while or when】- 說到「時間」的當！當！當！

1. while 用於「讓步」句型時，表「然而，儘管」
- While I admire your courage, it's sometimes better not to get involved.

2. while 用於「時間」句型時，表「在…期間」，「與…同時」
when: 強事件發生的時間點，子句多用「簡單式」
while: 強調某事進行中發生的狀況，子句多用「進行式」
- I was taking a shower when the telephone rang.
= While I was taking a shower, the telephone rang.

3. 但：when也可能用「進行式」強調動作持續
而：while 或 as後若接持續性動詞（last, live, sit, sleep等），也會用「簡單式」
- When waiting for a bus, we have to stay in line.
- Hurry while stocks last.
- As I sat down to have breakfast, there was a knock at the door.
