1. adolescent (n.) 青少年；(a.) 青少年的

2. adolescence (n.) 青春期
-> Adolescence is an important stage to form
one's character.

3. puberty (n.) 青春期

4. juvenile (a.) 青少年的
-> juvenile delinquency 青少年犯罪
-> juvenile behavior 幼稚的行為

5. impulse (n.) 衝動
-> I just bought some new clothes by impulse.
我在衝動下買了一些新衣服。
-> impulse buying 衝動購物

6. impulsive (a.) 衝動的
-> Don't be so impulsive. You need to think
twice before you act.
不要太衝動。再做任何事之前需要三思。

7. pulse (n.) 脈搏
-> take somebody's pulse 量脈搏
-> Exercise increases your pulse.
運動會加快你的脈搏。

8. compulsory
(a.) 義務的 (<-> optional)
-> compulsory education system
-> English and math are compulsory classes,
while music and art are optional.
英文和數學是必修課程，音樂和美術是選修課程。
(a.) 強制的
-> The law made wearing a helmet when riding
a scooter compulsory.
法律強制規定騎車要戴安全帽。

9. stigmatize (v.) 污名化、使背負惡名
-> People should not be stigmatized based on their race.
人不應該因為他們的種族而被污名化。

10. stigma (n.) 惡名、恥辱
-> In the past, being an unmarried mother carried
more serious social stigma than it does today.
在過去，未婚媽媽背負著比今天更嚴重的社會
上的污名。

So what's sometimes seen as the problem with adolescents — heightened risk-taking, poor impulse control, self-consciousness — shouldn't be stigmatized.

所以有時被視為是青少年會有的問題：包括更傾向去冒險、衝動控制能力弱、自我意識強，不該被污名化。
【心得】人不輕狂枉少年，每種特質都有其優缺點，關鍵還是要用對地方，才不會出亂子。
