Hello everyone, welcome to today’s pronunciation challenge. My name is Sam and today we’re going to be looking at a TED talk. Of course TED talk is always a great source for our pronunciation challenges as a full of lots of great information and there is always a great speaker and today is absolutely no exception. This TED talk is delivered by Salman Khan and in case you don’t know who Salman Khan is, he is the founder of the website, Khan Academy. I know it also has an app and there might be some platforms but it’s the mostly known for being a website and assumedly just a platform for learning almost anything for free, so Khan Academy, if you haven’t used it, I highly recommend you do. It goes over and provides free education around the world and coverage topics from history to math, to science to, you know, tons of stuff and I definitely used Khan Academy quite a lot in high school and in university because I found that gave really good explanations actually for these different subjects. So anyway, I’m going to, now going to challenge and once again yet this Salman Khan, so this is the founder himself talking about Khan Academy and how was it different from other education, traditional education, so here it is.
So the traditional model, most of the teacher's time is spent doing lectures and grading tests and whatnot. Maybe five percent of their time is actually sitting next to students and actually working with them. Now a hundred percent of their time is, so once again, using technology, not just flipping the classroom, you're humanizing the classroom, I'd argue, by a factor of five or ten.
1 . lecture
lecture [ˋlɛktʃɚ] (n.) (v.) (1) to give a lecture The professor gives a lecture.

(4) to define that its kind just explaining or arguing about something in a very lengthy, spending a long time and typically in a kind of an annoying way, telling someone what to do Every week, my mom lectures me about cleaning my room.
class [klæs] (n.) 課
2 . grade 給……評分
grade [gred] (v.) (n.) 給……評分 to grade, mark a test, a paper 給考卷評分

whatnot [ˋhwɑt͵nɑt] (n.) 等等 You list off a few things. We can go to the park or go hiking and whatnot.
et cetera [ɪt ˈsetərə] (n.) 等等 = etc. We have some fruits, oranges, apples, raspberries, etc.
4 . humanize
humanize [ˋhjumən͵aɪz] (v.) 把……看作具有人性 that you make something more humane that you make something or someone appear more humane After such a controversial political career, this documentary really humanized the president.
demonize [ˋdimən͵aɪz] (v.) 使成魔鬼 American media likes to demonize Kim Jong Eun.
