利用十次方來估算的能力有時能派得上用場，例如當你要猜測一個罐子裡面有幾顆 M&M 巧克力的時候。而這也是數學和科學裡的必要技巧，尤其當你要處理所謂的「費米問題」時。

★be convenient for/to sb. (to V)
convenient可接for也可接to，一般認為意思差異不大，不過接for含有「對…方便」的意味，而接to則有時含有「…認為方便」的意味。試體會下面兩句的含義：
●be convenient for… (對…方便的)
[Will the 3:50 train be convenient for you? 3點50分的火車對你方便嗎]
[Will it be convenient for you to start work tomorrow? 你明天開始工作方便嗎]
●be convenient to… (…認為方便的)
[Come whenever it is convenient to you.在你認為方便的時候請過來]

★在中文裡，「方便」可以用來形容「人」，也可以說「事」。
英文裡convenient的意思則是「令人感到方便」，用來形容的名詞不是人，而是「事物」。
●你方便嗎?
(x) Are you convenient?
(o) Is it convenient for/to you? (記得，用it當主詞)
●如果你感到方便的話，我就來。
(x) I’ll come if you are convenient.
(o) I’ll come if it is convenient for/to you.

★convenient既然是形容事物，就有人這樣說了，形容交通總可以吧：
●交通方便
(x) Traffic is convenient in Taipei.
兩個錯誤：
1. traffic多半用來形容負面的交通狀況，交通擁擠、堵塞之類的。
2. convenient不用來形容交通。convenient最核心的意義就是很近(near)，像便利商店叫convenient store，或很容易到達( Easy to reach; accessible) 。

那交通方便怎麼說呢，來看一個例句：
These retail outlets are situated in convenient locations and are easily accessible by public transport.這些零售店地點適中，交通方便。

●中文裡，我們常說，捷運很方便、鐵路很方便，直接就用OOO is convenient。文法上也對，但聽起來有點不自然，比較下面這兩句：
Railway is convenient.(鐵路很方便)
Travelling is convenient for people where there are railways. (有鐵路的地方，旅行就方便)
