TED-Ed:過目不忘的大象 (Why elephants never forget - Alex Gendler)
This recognition isn't limited to others of their species. Elephants have also recognized humans they've bonded with after decades apart. All of this shows that elephant memory goes beyond responses to stimuli.
他們不僅能辨認自己象群內的成員,亦能辨認其他物種。大象曾在幾十年後,認出他們曾經熟識的人類。這些例子都指出大象的記憶能力不僅只是「回應外在刺激」。

Hi, guys. My name is Kristi and welcome to today's pronunciation challenge. So it's a Saturday and guess what? I am in Tainan today having some really nice cuisine. Umm, but anyway.

Today we have a video it's called why elephants never forget, and I don't know if you guys have heard about this idiom before, but the saying that an elephant never forgets, is an expression used to imply that a person has a good memory or is unlikely to forget something. So the expression is usually used in a lighthearted or a humorous context.

For example, umm, maybe one of your friends remember what you did and how embarrass you were back in high school, and you can say something like: "Oh, an elephant never forgets." Simply means that, you know a person has an (like an) eidetic memory, which ___?___ also has that.

But, umm, this TED-Ed video explains that this is actually as true as it can be. So let's take a look at today's sentence. (略²)

單字請參考認真的Chang Chun!!! (我懶#

Alright so let's take a look at today's sentence one more time. (略) Alright so that's it for today's pronunciation challenge. I hope you guys have a great weekend and, you know, be nice to elephants. And I will challenge you guys on Monday, bye.

昨天受到吉米(=尿布)感召,回了差不多60個人的錄音,有一些感觸想和大家分享,但半夜怕吵到家人睡覺,只能錄很快很小聲的音,所以算了(改天啦#),附上一張今年初心血來潮的小作品就好。 PS: 我懶得畫頭髮請不要介意xDD

This recognition isn't limited to others of their species. Elephants have also recognized humans they've bonded with after decades apart. All of this shows that elephant memory goes beyond responses to stimuli.大象不僅能辨識彼此, 牠們還能辨認大象以外的其他物種。之前就有大象,還認得出幾十年前曾與他們熟識的人類。這種種都顯示出大象的記憶力不僅只限於「回應外在的刺激」而已。
