I'm not eating a cricket. - IIIIII'm busy this day. I have to go do a thing. - I don't know how down I am for this. - Bugs is one of the things that I never do. - All right, I'll try it. Honestly, they're kinda cute. - They're crickets. I get a dozen large every week for my leopard gecko. - It's a living an-- (crickets chirping) (retches) And it's making noises. - I will-- (cricket chirps) (screams shrilly) They're chirping! - (Finebros) And now you get to taste it. - Wait-wait-wait, they're in the cookies? - They're in cookies? This makes it a little less scary. - I'm-- I'm concerned, 'cause it looks like just cookies and milk, but I know it's not. - Here we go. Mm! There's no cricket in it... I think. - Is there anything currently alive in it? - (Finebros) No. - Everything is dead. Okay, that's all I wanted to know. It's a chocolate chip cookie. - Tastes pretty regular. (crunching) - Good. - Okay. (crunches) It's okay. Yeah, it tastes pretty good. - All right, I'ma go for it. (crunching) I taste something weird. - It's really grainy. It tastes like a granola bar. - Let's just do it. NO! (snickers) Aah! (whimpers) Nothing? This just tastes like a cookie. - It has a weird aftertaste. - I thought you guys were gonna give me a full-on cricket and be like, "There you go. Have at it." - (Finebros) You just tried a sweet version of those little guys. - No way. They're in it. - (Finebros) Think you're ready to take them on face to face? - Guys, I hate bugs. - Right when I thought you guys were being nice to me. I am not interested. - I'm not doing that! No! No, I will not eat this bug! I refuse! - Aaaagh... aah-HA! I touched it! No, I quit. I can't! I can't do it! Lookit, there's legs on there! - This is for you. Ugh, god. Mm. Mm. Oh! Ooh! - Okay, which one looks the least disgusting? YOLO. Yeah, it's pretty gross. (crunching) - Guh! - (hacks) Okay, I did it. Take those away. - I don't want to do this! (crunches) Ugh!! - I like, I feel the guts in my mouth. That's so gross. - I just feel little legs and wings like, (grumbles) - It was not that bad actually. I'm liking this aftertaste right now. - Definitely better than I thought it was gonna taste. I'm pretty proud of myself, actually. - (Finebros) Congratulations. You just ate crickets. - Yes! - Victory! I feel so accomplished with my life! - (Finebros) Crickets can be eaten whole but also can be grounded into flour and used for a variety of smoothies, oatmeal, or even baked goods like the cookies you had. - Okay, so there was no whole cricket in there. - It's kinda creative, 'cause I couldn't tell. - Cookies? Those are like-- it's like a little safe haven. And when you put smushed-up crickets in there, that ruins the entire safe little bubble you had for cookies. And now I can't trust anything. - What's the upside versus just regular flour? - (Finebros) Some people believe crickets are the future of protein, an eco-friendly alternative to livestock and a sustainable way to feed the over 7 billion people on Earth. - No! No, no, no, no. - Moving to alternatives that we can farm. So effectively and efficiently, space-wise, might be a good idea. - People put so many GMOs and stuff in their body that a cricket's natural, so I'm sure they'll be fine with eating this as their protein. Just not me. - (Finebros) Lastly, do you recommend people try crickets? - I do. - I would not. - 0 out of 10 don't recommend. - Please don't. - Try 'em. That aftertaste-- beautiful. - HELL no! - Yes. I did it once, and I can say that I did it, and I'm happy. - Try it as flour, because the cookies were just like (kisses) baked goods. All cookies are great. - Thanks for watching the very first episode of Teens vs. Food on the React channel. - Put your mouths over the Subscribe button and "cricket." - Bye, guys. Can I get another one of those cookies?
