Now for those of you who've seen I recently bought this as my new car!

However I knew that it had Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality; I checked the specs.

But one thing I forgot to check was that it was wired only;

it doesn't have wireless Apple CarPlay or wireless Android Auto.

But there is something that you can do to fix that!

但其實有個方法可以解決這個問題！

The very first thing that I bought for this car was in fact a cable so I could actually use CarPlay in this car because in this one it has USB-A and then for my phone was USB-C.

我為這臺車買的第一樣東西，其實是一條線，這樣我才能在這臺車上使用 CarPlay，因為這臺車是 USB-A，而我的手機是 USB-C。

But we want to get rid of the cable completely!

We want to go fully wireless and in fact I did test a few CarPlay adapters a few years ago and it was very very popular.

So I'm doing a 2026 version testing about five or six adapters to see which one is best.

this is by far the smallest on this list which is pretty impressive considering there used to be just cables with an actual unit attached.

Now I should add this is available to purchase as a USB-A unit or USB-C unit but it does seem you get a converter anyway at least in this one.

But at less than an inch in all directions it's very very small and very understated.

So he basically just goes in there; there's my USB port just in there.

Obviously I mentioned about the USB-C and USB-A differences between the adapters so make sure you get the right one for your car even though there is a dongle.

But once it loads up you'll see this screen;

now you actually connect to that Bluetooth on there for the first time setup.

Once you've done it once it then just boots into CarPlay like that and you saw how quick it was!

I mean that was fairly quick before and it's been fairly reliable with how quick it starts.

So 8 seconds to that screen and then oh yeah look at that;

that was on 11 something so yeah here's the time on screen.

Apple CarPlay is all connected so just like that we've got CarPlay running wirelessly.

And this is the cool thing about these adapters;

they all do it slightly differently but yeah this one is as being the first one is very very impressive.

I remember when I tested them a few years ago some were touching the 15 or 16 second boot up time if I remember.

Basically you want it to start as quickly as possible so you can get to CarPlay, program when you sat down and get going.

there is quite a bright blue LED on it but most USB ports are usually in like an armrest or something in the car so just something to factor in.

I wanted to find out what the cheapest one I could find is so I went onto Amazon, typed Apple CarPlay wireless adapter and found one for just £20!

我想找找看我能找到最便宜的，所以我上 Amazon 搜尋 Apple CarPlay 無線轉接器，結果找到一個只要 20 英鎊的！

Well I guess this is £20 so it can be forgiven I guess.

This is definitely larger than the one we've just seen but it is wrapped in this carbon fibre surround and conveniently also has an extension and USB-C converter.

So yeah the previous one is definitely smaller but this one being wrapped in this carbon fibre basically just looks like a USB stick so let's test this one.

Now I have as I mentioned linked all of these previously to this because I've obviously been testing them so we're just going to test the boot up time once it's initially paired.

Initial pairing usually takes a little bit longer but once it is paired let's test it!

It was about 11 seconds something so this one...

We're on the screen 9 10 11 oh yes basically the same!

OK well let's test out a few other things!

The boot interface that we saw as it was pairing like that one there looks like some weird gaming setup but aside from that it does boot into CarPlay and again has been fairly reliable.

So yeah I mean it is a little bit cheaper;

it is larger though so it does protrude from here and as this car that I bought is a city car it's a very small car.

Every nook and cranny and crevice in here I do need as much space as possible so if I'm going to put stuff in there I might accidentally knock that then break the USB port.

But for some cars the USB ports might actually be tucked away so you might not have that issue.

I do appreciate of course on the Autocast one it is very very small;

the footprint is so small on that one so that is a huge win on that.

But yeah I mean aside from the weird spelling mistakes it it works!

I don't know how long their warranty would be;

I mean it does say on here they've got a long warranty but I've never heard of some of these brands.

However the next one that I wanted to test is... um well a bit different!

This one is called the Mirror Touch Wireless CarPlay Adapter by Autocast.

這個叫做 Autocast 的 Mirror Touch 無線 CarPlay 配接器。

This one claims to convert wired Apple CarPlay to wireless like the others in this video which is good but then also have the ability to mirror your phone up to the screen once plugged in a bit like a TV and a bit like AirPlay.

這個聲稱能將有線 Apple CarPlay 轉換成無線，就像影片中其他產品一樣，這很棒，而且它還能像電視或 AirPlay 一樣，將手機畫面鏡射到螢幕上。

This technically would allow video playback something that currently iOS does not do with CarPlay although there are rumours of that coming soon if your car manufacturer supports it.

So yeah as we've seen from the unboxing this one has well a lot of cabling on it.

Number one when you plug this in it does wireless CarPlay and Android Auto which is great which I guess is what pretty much that unit does.

But then on the other end there's another cable which does the mirroring so yes you can mirror your phone to the car!

So let's test the boot up time first so ready with the stopwatch 3 2 1 go!

I've paired this already the initial process so I'm timing the repairing once it's paired once.

I think the pairing's about the sort of same time except you do have to manually do it;

it doesn't automatically boot into CarPlay.

However you can change the default mode so if you go into settings you can change default open mode and get it to boot into CarPlay so it should be around the same sort of time around 11 seconds for just wireless CarPlay.

不過你可以更改預設模式，所以如果你進到設定，可以更改預設開啟模式，讓它開機進入 CarPlay，所以無線 CarPlay 大約是 11 秒左右。

The other interesting thing this adapter does as well is mirroring so yes you can literally watch video on here and I've got to say actually it is quite good!

ever say slightly a very slight lag but nowhere near as bad as it used to be years ago.

I remember it was like a second or so delay before and yeah that caused a few issues but this is watchable!

I guess the question that some people are going to have right now is does this work while moving?

我想現在有些人會問的問題是，開車的時候這個功能還能用嗎？

So I can't believe I have to say this and say this so many times!

Do not use this and play video while driving!

I have to state the obvious here because that is not safe!

I don't know how long you'll be able to do this for but for I'm thinking for EV owners or for people who are parked up waiting for their car to charge or waiting for someone or you're just having a picnic at the side of the road or something.

我不知道你們能這樣用多久，但我想對於電動車車主，或是停下來等車充電、等人，或者只是在路邊野餐的人來說。

The fact that you can now watch stuff on CarPlay on here is quite cool using this device!

Very very interesting gadget the fact it has wireless CarPlay and then also the fact that you can um mirror your phone up to the screen and swap between the two.
