of the crash some stocks had lost over 90 percent of their value fisher himself lost both his own fortune and his credibility he will go down in history as delivering one of the most spectacularly absurd predictions of all time the lessons from the crash of 1929 are that history repeats itself that human folly and greed are much stronger forces in financial affairs than reason and restraint
