All of those days add up to about 3,500 days, which equates to around 10 years! Each menstrual cycle is usually around 28 days; this along with the period duration, the amount of flow, and even the pain level is slightly different among each girl and woman. To our women listeners, do you remember when, where, and how you got your first period? I hope it wasn’t as disastrous as it was for the girl in our video. PMS which stands for premenstrual syndrome is a wide variety of signs and symptoms which occur around the time of a period. These include mood swings, headaches, back pain, bloating, food cravings, fatigue, etc. It’s normal to feel a bit irritable around this time of the month. Many people get cramps during their period; they’re the result of contractions in the uterus. You can ask your doctor about using an over-the-counter pain reliever if your cramps get awful. You can also try using a hot water bottle on your lower tummy or lower back. Some people also say that dark chocolate has high magnesium content which helps relax muscles, so it’s the perfect excuse to treat yourself to some yummy chocolate!

These days I rely on a period tracking app to help me stay on top of my cycle, otherwise, I have had a few too many ‘incidents’ in the past where I was totally unprepared for an unexpected period! Nowadays I’ve become a bit more careful and even avoid wearing light-colored pants when it’s around that time of the month.
