Tips:
species: two syllables with the stress on the first one. "spe" has a little bit /b/ sound. "cies" is pronounced as "ʃiz". Altogether, "spe-cies".
insidious: four syllables with the stress on the second one. "in" is /ɪn/. Both "si" and "di" in the next syllable have short vowels "ɪ". "ous" is /əs/. Put them together, "in-si-di-ous".
