Hello, my lovely Voicetube listeners! Today, I’ll be talking about a hot topic that many people, including myself, don’t know much about. (This is also why I’m presenting this video because I want to learn more about it myself.) So, as you can guess, I’ll be talking about NFT’s! What does NFT stand for you may ask? NFT stands for non-fungible token. Non-fungible means it’s unique and cannot be replaced with anything else. It’s not like money where you can trade 1 dollar for another dollar of equal value. You can look at NFT’s as something like trading cards. Imagine having a rare original Charizard Pokemon card. It’s value is not the same as something like a Weedle card. NFT’s kind of work like this and can be extended to crazier things like GIFs as well! You guys should look into NBA top shot! The NBA is selling GIFs of iconic NBA moments. There’s a clip of LeBron James dunking that sold for $210,000 US dollars!

For the first word, we have
Nevertheless
Four syllables.
This one is quite simple but I just don’t want any of you listeners to get confused with the spelling. Just say the three words, never, the, less but speed it up and you have, nevertheless. What does it mean? Stick around for the vocabulary section to find out.

Next up, we have
Skepticism
Four syllables
“SKEP” has a short E sound. Make sure you don’t say the short A sound. Here’s a tip. Try not to open your mouth too much when you say the short E sound. (The short A sound, you’ll need to open your mouth to pronounce it correctly.) Ok, back to the word. “TI” has a short i sound. “CI” also has a short i sound with an S sound in front. Then we have “SM”, which is pretty much just saying “SIM” like a “SIM card”. Skepticism.

Lastly, we have,
Investor
Three syllables.
“IN” is simply “in” like “in and out”. “VES” has a short E sound and “TOR” sounds like it has your typical “ER” sound with a T in front. Investor.


Moving onto Vocabulary!

The first word is:

despite what has just been said or referred to
Used in a sentence you could say,
“I encountered some difficulties when doing the work. Nevertheless, I finished it in time.

Next word,
2. Skepticism
Definition
doubt that something is true or useful
Used in a sentence, you could say:
“There was a lot of skepticism surrounding his claims of seeing ghosts.”

And lastly,
3. Investor
Definition:
a person who puts money into something in order to make a profit or get an advantage
Used in a sentence, you could say:
“We finally found an investor for our film!”

So are any of you listeners NFT owners? This is still new to me so I’m still finding my way around it. I don’t want to invest money into something just because someone says I should. That’s how people lose all their money. Also, you should never invest money that you’re not willing to lose. Otherwise, that would be gambling! I would suggest everyone do some research before making such a big commitment! It’s an exciting time but also be smart about it.
