Greetings everyone! Hubert, back again with language learning! With this video, we’re giving you four tips on how to learn a new language effectively (better)! I know speaking a new language is a daunting (scary) thought, especially if you’re just starting out. It can lead to self-doubt and even some stuttering. Don’t worry! That’s part of the process, and with these four tips, they can make the process a little less frightening. I’ll give you the first tip. Get a conversational partner! That way, you can actually practice speaking the new language and get your mouth, lips, and tongue accustomed (adjusting to) to the new shapes and sounds. For the rest of the tips, you’ll have to just finish watching the video to find out! After doing so, come back to me for today’s featured sentence!
Today’s featured sentence:
“and then immediately you'll find that what you're learning theoretically will be much more applicable to your speaking of the language.”
I’ll say that again.
“and then immediately you'll find that what you're learning theoretically will be much more applicable to your speaking of the language.”
Ok, now time for the Pronunciation Tips.
First word.
Immediately (uh·mee·dee·uht·lee)
Five syllables.
Uh (short U sound), mee (as in “me”), dee (long E sound), uht (try pronouncing the word, “it”), and lee (Bruce Lee) Immediately.
Next word.
Theoretically (thee·uh·reh·tuh·klee)
A whopping six syllables!
Thee (long E sound), uh (short U sound), reh (short E sound), tuh (short U sound) and a blending of the letter K and Lee. Theoretically.
And our last one for pronunciation would be:
Applicable (a · pluh · kuh · bl)
Four syllables.
A then pluh (I would say this is a short “i” sound), followed by kuh, (short U sound), and bl (like the animal, bull). Applicable.
Moving onto Vocabulary!
The first word is:
1. Immediately
Definition
now or without waiting or thinking
Used in a sentence you could say,
We really ought to leave immediately.
Next word,
2. Theoretically
Definition
in a way that obeys some rules but is not likely
Used in a sentence you could say,
It is theoretically possible.
And lastly,
3. Applicable
Definition:
affecting or relating to a person or thing
Used in a sentence you can say:
“The new qualifications are applicable to all European countries.”

#我的確常會「幻想」如何使用新學到的字詞句,在可能的生活場景上
#所以回顧三年前(或還有其它時不時的)口說錄音,
我都懷疑,那個寫筆記錄音的人是我嗎?(整個人格崩解XD)
Imagine a scenario in which you'd use it naturally, with friends, as part of your normal life, and then immediately you'll find that what you're learning theoretically will be much more applicable to your speaking of the language.

原本想藉由看 How I Met Your Mother
