我們都以為這些標示是政府所訂下的某種重要安全規範，但實際上，除了嬰兒食品以外，美國聯邦政府並沒有規定食物需要標示任何期限。
【心得】有些食物還沒到期限就不能吃了，真得要視氣候和所在地的乾濕度而定。用品的話，我倒會過期了照樣繼續用，我的綠油經和面速力達母就用了N年還沒用完，繼續使用中。

當天到期 -> 吃
過期三天以內 -> 吃
過期一個星期 -> 小心地吃 (記得檢查有沒有發霉；牛奶就丟了吧)
過期一個月 -> 更小心地吃
過期半年 -> 考慮丟掉...
過期一年 -> 丟了吧！
例外：冰在冷凍庫的食物永遠可以吃！
