It seems we have a really hard time sacrificing in the present to prepare for the future. Now, part of this is neurological, we're programmed to think in the short term. But it's also important to remember the cause of man made climate change.
Due to my limited time, I didn't share my tips in my recording. I'll just post it here. Prior to speaking a foreign language, we all have to get lots of input either from listening or reading. I shared the sources of my reading yesterday. Today I wanna tell you how do I practice listening in a EFL learning environment (English as a foreign language). I started to watch lots of Hollywood movies, since high school. And I got a cardboard to block the subtitles on the screen. Maybe the first time you just watch the movie for pleasure, or maybe twice. The third time to watch that, you can try to remove the subtitles from the screen or block them with whatever you have within reach. I firmly believe that by having a lot of listening input from authentic materials is really conducive to my listening skills. Combined with the skill I have yesterday, that is my secret to get 990 in TOEIC :)
PS. not necessarily to only be movies on TV; youtube clips can be also helpful .
