in today's day and age networking is extremely important in getting you an

interview and ultimately getting you a job offer but unlike the old days it's

actually harder now to network with a person in person because you actually

have the barrier of a online job system where you have to submit your resume

online and then you hope and pray that they'll reach out to you and see your

resume and call you for an interview and so that's why you need to learn how to

network online and so in this video I'm sharing with you five key steps that I

teach in my top notch resume course and to my private clients on how you can

land yourself more interviews beyond just submitting your online applications

so let's jump into step one and that is to identify the job that you want to

apply for now this one's the easy part you just have to jump onto a job search

board indeed LinkedIn or any other website that you use and identify the

exact position that you truly want to apply to step two locate the company on

LinkedIn so once you have the job description you know what title you know

what company it is you want to then jump onto LinkedIn and you want to identify

the exact company that is hiring for this position

step three search for the hiring manager recruiter or HR manager that you'd want

to reach out to so through LinkedIn you are actually able to view all the

employees that work at that organization and from there you want to filter and

you want to identify the hiring manager the HR manager or the recruiter that

might be recruiting for this particular position step four reach out and connect

to them and make sure to add a personalized note so now that you've

identified the potential individuals who might be hiring for this position then

you're gonna reach out you're gonna connect and you're gonna add a note and

you're just going to add a personalized note that says that you're interested in

the opportunity that they're recruiting for and hope that they connect with you

and finally step 5 once they've connected with you send

them your resume with a personalized message about the job posting they have

and how you fit the job that they're hiring for sending them your resume

through LinkedIn is going to be an effective way to make sure that they see

your profile your resume top front and center as opposed to perhaps digging

in the online system and looking for your resume so this is a way to get

yourself in front of the right hiring manager or employer that could be

recruiting for this position now the one thing I have to say though is you could

do this time and time again but the one caveat to this the only way that it will

truly work is if you have a compelling attractive resume to actually send to

them because if your resume isn't up to par even if you send it to hundreds of

professionals hundreds of HR managers and recruiting managers they're still

likely not going to reach back out to you because they probably won't see that

you're the right fit for the position so if you don't feel that your resume is up
