  • Hello, everyone, and welcome to another video.

  • Now, in 2013 if you wanted the top Attea gaming card, then perhaps in videos 7 80 t, I would have been the way to go at $700.

  • It sure was.

  • A beast on wasn't suited to everybody's budget.

  • However, if you really wanted to make your friends jealous, then you could have opted for one of these, which released slightly earlier in the year.

  • This is the original GTX tighten.

  • It features six gigs of Judy are five Aram launched at a price of $999 Now.

  • For gamers, it didn't make much sense considering the 7 80 t.

  • I was the car of choice for most enthusiasts who had gaming primarily in mind.

  • But with the Titan being an all round behemoth, there were certainly a few people that picked it up, and I was not one of them.

  • Today we're taking a look back at the original GTX Titan to see what it can do in a few modern games.

  • Now, if you've been here for a while, you may remember we took a very brief look back at it in 2000 and 17.

  • But a lot has changed in the gaming world since then, so I thought we'd make a sort of revisit video just to see what it can do these days.

  • This one cost me £129 with £10 extra for express delivery, and it was in pretty much brand new condition.

  • Okay, so this is the Zodiac AMP.

  • Addition, GTX Titan.

  • It features a GPU clock of 902 megahertz, up 8% over the stuck in video card on a boost clock of 954 megahertz, up 9% over the reference design.

  • There's also a 16 52 megahertz memory clock on DDE.

  • It is based on the Kepler architecture, and now, as you may know, the NVIDIA Kepler cards certainly didn't age as well.

  • A say and I am D alternative.

  • For instance, I've pared this with a rise and 5 36 116 gigs of 3200 megahertz memory and a C sonic focus plus gold 550 What PS you?

  • You might think that the rise and five would hold the Titan back, but in fact you could probably pay a rise in 5 3600 with any card on the market right now and see very nice results.

  • It really is a pretty decent CPU for the money.

  • But enough about that.

  • Because today we're focusing on the graphics card.

  • Now, the Titan back in the day was known as a card that could probably handle every modern release out there with relative ease.

  • So what I've done, first of all, is attempted a few modern titles at the highest possible settings Ultra preset, all round.

  • And then I've dropped the settings where I've needed to in order to try and achieve 60 frames per second.

  • So, first of all, we're gonna max out the games, see how the Titan handles them, and then do what we need to do in order to achieve 60 frames per second on average.

  • Now, this is certainly a 10 80 p card these days.

  • No question about it.

  • Battlefield five ultra.

  • First of all, it run.

  • Okay.

  • It hovered around the 60 f p s mark, but there was certainly a lot of drops here and there.

  • So to combat this instead of ultra, I found that high settings was definitely best for this game and hear this meant that we didn't see too many drops below 60 f b s and we saw a pretty decent result.

  • Now, obviously, in the games where the title was able to achieve ultra settings and 60 frames per second, I didn't really need to test those twice.

  • One such example was Fortnight, which we were able to run at Epic and still retain at least 60 F.

  • P s on average.

  • The game around pretty well here.

  • In my experience, Thegame does favor in video cards.

  • I've played this on my Vega 56 which is more powerful than the Titan by today's standards.

  • Andi.

  • I saw a lot more frame drops, which shouldn't really be the case on paper, but this game just seems toe prefer Team Green.

  • It's a very nice experience on the old school tight in here, and I've also left the temperature up on screen as well today to show you how hot this blower style card gets.

  • In all honesty, though, it certainly doesn't get that loud.

  • Knowing Grand Theft Auto five here we saw a way above 60 frames per second on average as to be expected with this game, which is getting on a bit now.

  • But it was nice to see that we could turn everything up to very high and still see a very playable frame rate indeed.

  • Looking back on it, I don't think I turned m s a on I had everything else set the ultra.

  • So just bear that in mind if you have a tighter than you try to run G t a with a rise in 5 3600 and get significantly different results.

  • M S A wasn't on here, and that will affect the performance for the better.

  • Once again, there was no need to really tweak the settings after setting everything to very high because it ran with 60 frames per second, at least flawlessly all of the time.

  • Now, one such game that really made the Titans suffer was Metro Exodus Boy wasthe This a pretty horrific a result.

  • Now it's no surprise because Metro exodus is probably one of the most demanding games too well ever release Onder setting everything to ultra.

  • First of all, I didn't really go well for the Titan.

  • I tried epic at the very beginning but the game just froze before even really getting started.

  • So ultra it waas on DDE.

  • Even so, the frame rate wasn't exactly brilliant.

  • This is based on the benchmark run, the one you can see on screen right now.

  • However, turning things down to low certainly improved things now.

  • Although we still weren't averaging 60 frames per second, it came, well, sort of close, I guess.

  • And I think gameplay will differ quite a bit to the benchmark result.

  • They're going to be a lot more variations in performance in actual gameplay, because the circumstances are entirely different environments of different.

  • Sometimes your insights.

  • Sometimes you're outside on.

  • This game is set across many different levels, which will all perform differently on your graphics card in pub.

  • Gee, the Titan came close to running things at 60 F.

  • B.

  • S with the ultra preset, but it wasn't quite doable.

  • I think we saw something like 54 or the results, of course, will be on your screen right now, turning things down a little bit too high, whereby the game's still looks fantastic, by the way, sorted things out and we were averaging above 60 frames per second and retaining a pretty high frame rate, as you can see by those 1% in 10.1% lows.

  • There were a couple of status here and there, something I've seen on a few of my graphics cards after the most recent update.

  • But I guess that's just one of those things that may or may not get ironed out again when we see another patch.

  • Now, I wasn't really sure what to expect with rage to considering.

  • It's quite new and it's also quite demanding.

  • But we were averaging around the mid forties with the Ultra settings.

  • I don't think that's too bad.

  • The game still looked great and the performance was okay.

  • There really wasn't much Stata, but in order to achieve a solid 60 frames per second on average, we had to turn things all the way down to low.

  • Obviously, the game won't look as good with these settings applied.

  • But if you really must have 60 f ps with rage to, you've gotta tighten.

  • This will be the way you have to play it personally.

  • I'd go for something like medium or high, but that's just me.

  • If you want a solid 60 FBs, then low.

  • It's gonna have to be now, although we certainly saw an improvement in just cause for between the ultra and the low settings.

  • In terms of frame rate, the 600.1% low didn't really improve, and we couldn't really iron out any of the stutters or frame drops.

  • Despite changing the settings, tweaking things differently.

  • Stuff like that, just coarse four is very gpu intensive.

  • So I'm not surprised that switching things didn't make too much of a difference that we did still see a nice increase in the average frame rate when we changed things from ultra too low.

  • Using the low settings is definitely the best way to go.

  • I feel with just cause for if you are aiming for 60 f p s, though, just like in all of the other games, if you want coaster to 30 then you should feel free to keep things on ultra.

  • To be honest, it would make more sense purchasing a used GTX 10 60 because you'd save a little bit of money over the price often original Titan and you'd likely see better performance as well.

  • That's just one such example.

  • Of course, there are many other options on the used market.

  • The you could buy for less on see more frame right from maybe even the three.

  • Gig 10 60 would give this a run for its money.

  • But don't quote me on that.

  • To me, it's still an absolute beast.

  • I really like the Titan here.

  • I think it's just one of those cards that will always be remembered, especially considering it was the 1st 1 to have this name.

  • A couple of other things I'd like to make sure are the crashes try to fire up rust something that you guys requested.

  • I had to the bench marks on that crashed to the desktop.

  • Grand Theft Auto five also crashed a couple of times before I finally got it working.

  • That may just be a coincidence.

  • It may just be the system I've got here, but just bear that in mind.

  • Should you be considering a tight in which you probably shouldn't bay all things considered unless you can get one for around £100 or dollars?

  • I'd like to take this opportunity to say that after trying it one more time, Rust did in fact, work after I set things too simple these simple graphics preset.

  • And it seems that was just about right, because although I didn't really get a chance to benchmark this properly with on screen figures, as I wasn't expecting it to work, we were hovering around 60 to 70 frames per second.

  • I hope you've enjoyed seeing how the Titan performs with a few modern games.

  • Let me know your thoughts down below.

  • In the comments, let me know if you own one of these or have ever owned one of these or any in the Titan lineup.

  • Unless, of course, it's like the arty ex tight and in which case, you're just showing off.

  • Leave a hike on this video.

  • If you enjoyed it, leave a dislike if you didn't subscribe to the channel.

  • If you haven't done so already on, hopefully I'll see all of you in the next one.

Hello, everyone, and welcome to another video.
