But as Fox thirteen's Lauren Steinbrecher explains, there's a big hang up, keeping all our clocks in limbo. You're still gonna have to set your clocks forward and back because even though the Legislature passed that bill today, it all depends. Now what happens on a federal level? A few 100 clocks, at least. Yes, there is each set two different hours and minutes. There's always something trying to like you can hear right now. It's no surprise. Daylight saving time is sometimes a topic of conversation and norms shop that today is pretty timely. Over time, people have come in, and I wish they would just leave it alone and you know, things like that. That wish came true Wednesday when the state Legislature passed a bill to keep these clocks on one time all year round. But there's no set date for to take effect, mainly because right now it can't. The federal government doesn't allow states to permanently observe daylight saving. The state of Utah is stuck in making any decision, Utah Congressman Rob Bishop introduced legislation last year that would give states the power to do what they want. It has yet to move out of committee, which means time could keep ticking with no change, for the state could drag out into the end of this year, in which case it wouldn't take effect until next year or a couple years after that. Still, the idea of doing away with the back and forth is enough to excite Norm. That is nice toe to be all the same all year long, even if the clocks here are on their own time. Anyway, now that the bill has been passed goes to Governor Gary Herbert, who will either sign it or veto it. But of course, even after that, it all depends on what happens on that federal level in holiday.
