  • Yo, what's up, guys could be here.

  • And so I don't always do in boxing's.

  • But when I do, it's usually of the most interesting stuff.

  • And so this.

  • This might be the most interesting phone in the world right now.

  • Galaxy Z flip for Zedd Flip So this is my sort of second look at the device.

  • I've bought this one, and I'm about to put my main SIM card into it, about to make it my daily phone.

  • So when you get it out the box for the first time, you're once again greeted with a similar warning from the original galaxy fold.

  • You know, don't press against the screen too hard with anything sharp.

  • Avoid scratching it.

  • It's not water or dust.

  • Resistance will keep that in mind and no screen protectors or pieces on this screen on in the box.

  • You also get some U S B.

  • C, A K G earbuds and a Samsung fast charger, which is definitely nice to see, but let's take a closer look at the phone itself.

  • So there it is, the Z flip, as everyone else who spent their $1380 will get it.

  • Yes, I got the purple one.

  • Call me crazy.

  • But I think this looks better actually than the mayor black version simply because of the fingerprint situation.

  • This maybe, maybe the most fingerprint magnet phone I've seen in a long time.

  • Just because of how much you have to touch it to handle it.

  • Look here, Check out.

  • Check out this demo.

  • There's a freshly wiped down phone, right?

  • I use microfibers to clean off phones all the time before videos I'm gonna do is open it and swipe around to do a couple of things.

  • Nothing too crazy, A normal couple seconds of use.

  • Then I close it and oh my God, there's already a ton of fingerprints all over the back.

  • It's wild.

  • It's not even worth trying to keep it clean.

  • This feels like one of those phones that you'd be better off putting a skin or case on.

  • And, of course, the case situation to a folding phone like this is, of course, pretty interesting.

  • So I'll leave a link to a good case below.

  • So a couple of things that I've noticed now that I've had it out the box for a day one is for as much magic talk.

  • A Samsung has said about this being the first ever foldable with a folding glass display.

  • Well, we've seen that play out a bit in a bit of a controversial way.

  • I, of course, probably saw Zack did.

  • His legendary durability test, which revealed the protective layer on top, seems to scratch just as easily as before, and that spark Samsung to talk about their screen and skin protector replacement program.

  • With mine here, you can see all the warnings are still here.

  • Even when you boot up the phone, it's still telling you actively, don't even put a screen protector on it.

  • It's fragile.

  • It's fragile.

  • Be careful.

  • So the advantages of it being a glass screen seemed to really be limited to the way it feels on the hand and under your finger, which is definitely better than previous plastic folding phones.

  • But that's about it there and then also, there's a bit of a warning about magnets like the original galaxy folds.

  • So I figured I'd get the handy magnet paper to see where the maggots are in this phone.

  • And sure enough, there are some matching pairs of magnets at the top, and the bottom that keep it held snugly together when it's closed.

  • So then holding this phone and using it my thoughts are definitely backed up that, you know, despite the little indented up by the selfie camera and this still very visually obvious crease, this is the flip is the most complete and well built folding phone yet.

  • I'm definitely sticking by that.

  • You know, the evolution of what they've learned from the first Galaxy full of just a couple months ago is really impressive.

  • But there's a couple key differences that aren't necessarily all that great.

  • The taller aspect ratio, for example, eyes feeling kind of like a mixed bag.

  • You know, 21 by nine is pretty cool assed faras keeping at slim and manageable for such a big screen.

  • But it's now definitely too tall to reach anything at the top corner with one hand, even for me, eh?

  • So it's gonna be more of a two handed device most of the time, and you're also gonna have some pretty sizable black bars when watching anything but 21 by nine content.

  • And I'm not a huge fan of like zooming in to fill the screen because you chop off a lot of the video when you do that.

  • So yes, something to keep in mind.

  • And, speaking of hands, actually think this phone is easier to open and close with one hand.

  • Then the Moto Razor was for me, And a big part of that is because of the hinge wait and the tightness, and it just feels more under control.

  • So I like this phone's hinge more than the razors.

  • But because of how slippery it is and because of how expensive it is, I still tend to want to just do everything with two hands every time, just to avoid maybe the possibility of dropping it.

  • And it was just a little bit annoying to have to go through this whole two handed process every single time you want to use the phone.

  • I mention this because the Z flip almost completely gets rid of the outside cover screen that the original fold and even the Moto Razor have.

  • So you're really not ever using the phone when it's closed, you have to open it up every single time.

  • And for the record, I do prefer the outside cover screen, even like the one on the razor.

  • I think being able to see your notifications interact with, um, clean them up a little bit, stuff like that.

  • That would be great to avoid having to open the phone every time.

  • But the tiny, tiny screen on the Z flip is basically just gonna show you the time and your notifications.

  • And if you're crazy enough, it can be a viewfinder for a selfie from the main camera.

  • But that won't even let you switch over to the ultra right.

  • It's so limited.

  • The screen's too small to add a toggle.

  • So, yeah, the combination of no functional outside screen plus two handed opening and closing every single time is Ah, the one thing that I think may weigh on me a bit as I'm using the phone every day.

  • But hey, you know, if people of Olden days did this with flip phones every single day, then maybe it's not so bad.

  • I will say, having a phone that folds down to being so much smaller and thing in my pocket better.

  • The idea in general is growing on me, even though it's very clearly still an obvious crease.

  • And even though the technology is a couple compromises short of being ideal for most people.

  • Right now, I feel like the idea of a vertical folding phone is at least making more sense to me as I get used to having like, a lot less feeling phone in my pocket, if that makes sense, like I've had huge phones in my pockets for a long time, and this really actually does feel like a lot less than that when it's folded.

  • So I get that.

  • So what?

  • The testing begin.

  • I'm gonna use this phone just like I use any other phone.

  • Um, if anything starts to break or or scratch or Dent or peel or anything like that, you guys will be the first to know about it.

  • So thanks for watching this on boxing.

  • And second look is one of many videos coming up on a bunch of this new tech that's all coming out.

  • So definitely stay tuned and get subscribed.

  • If you haven't already to be the first to see that when it comes out, catch guys in the next one face.

Yo, what's up, guys could be here.
