Are you an expert in markets, economics, politics?
Have you developed specialised knowledge in a field
that you'd like to share with a broad and interested audience?
We want your opinion.
The internet is a noisy place.
Twenty years ago there were 23 blogs
on the whole of the internet.
Today, there are half a billion, still less than a third
of all websites.
That's an annual two and half trillion gigabytes
of internet traffic, predicted to double
in the next few years.
Every day brings 500m Instagram stories and 137m blog posts
on Tumblr alone.
Every minute, 400 hours of YouTube video is uploaded.
And since I started speaking, over 300,000 tweets
have hit the Twitter sphere.
Each of these brings its own stream of comments.
Many are thoughtful.
But many are personal, petty, and polarising.
It's explosive, and attention is saturated.
Your average blogger spends three hours
curating a post that the average reader sees
for all of 37 seconds.
Their focus is stolen by adverts, and fake news,
and bright flashing clickbait.
It's getting harder, and harder, and harder to be heard.
We're making space on our platform
for informed, intelligent argument.
And we want you, our viewers, to help provide it.
We have hundreds of thousands of subscribers on YouTube
and millions of readers on FT.com.
Business leaders, politicians, and academics
from around the world click on our content millions of times
every single day.
Send us a clip or short paragraph pitching your idea.
And your voice could be heard over the rabble.
