And today, we're gonna go taste some of the must-eats, from world-famous pork rice and noodle soup to life-changing bubble tea. 今天,我們要品嚐一些必吃美食,從世界聞名的豬肉飯和湯麵到改變人生的珍珠奶茶。 Let's go! 走吧! So, for a classic Taiwanese breakfast, you want to come to Soy Milk King. 如果想要典型的台式早餐,你應該要來永和豆漿大王。 They specialize in traditional breakfast dishes, including variations of the youtiao. 他們專門製作傳統早餐,包括不同形式的油條。 Youtiaos are deep-fried breadsticks, but also known as the Chinese donut. 油條是油炸的麵包棍,也被稱為中式甜甜圈。 So, what I have in front of me right now is the youtiao wrapped in a layer of flatbread, or shao bing, and egg, and a salty soybean soup to go with it. 我面前現在擺著的是包裹在稱為燒餅的扁麵包和蛋之中的油條,搭配一碗鹹豆漿。 I'm gonna start with the flatbread. 我要先從燒餅開始吃。 Oh, it's super crispy. 喔,它超級酥脆。 It's basically a carb overdose. 他基本上就是碳水化合物超載。 I like that the egg is in there, 'cause it makes me feel like I'm actually having breakfast. 我喜歡裡面加蛋,因為那讓我覺得我確實是在吃早餐。 And it comes with this soy paste on the table. 桌上還會提供這個醬油膏。 So, I'm gonna put some on to see how that tastes. 我要放一點在上面,看看味道如何。 The soy paste is kind of sweet. 這醬油膏有點甜。 Well, it actually brings out more flavor in the wrap. 它其實帶出了燒餅油條的更多風味。 I can't imagine having it without it now. 我現在無法想像不沾醬油膏吃了。 It's really good. 這真的很好吃。 I think I'm gonna try some of the salty soy milk now. 我想我現在要試一點鹹豆漿了。 So, I've had sweet soy milk before. 我喝過甜豆漿。 This is my first time ever having savory soy milk. 這是我第一次嘗試鹹豆漿。 It's actually really good; it tastes a little bit like savory tofu because the milk kind of hardens a little bit. 它其實真的很好吃,嚐起來有點像鹹豆腐,因為豆漿有點變硬了。 So, you get this kind of stewy tofu texture, and it softens up the pastry a little bit. 所以你會嚐到一點燉豆腐的質地,也會稍微軟化燒餅。 So, it becomes all the more hearty. 讓整頓飯變得更豐盛。 I can see why people have these two together. 我可以了解人們為什麼會這兩樣一起吃。 People don't usually dip it, but I think I'm gonna do it anyway. 人們通常不會浸泡,但我還是要試試看。 This is definitely my favorite way of having it. 這絕對是我最喜歡的吃法。 This is Ay-Chung. 這是阿宗麵線。 They sell only one thing: rice flour noodles. 他們只賣一樣東西:麵線。 So, as you can see, it's one of the most popular spots in town. 如你們可見,這是城裡最受歡迎的景點之一。 So, once you make your way through that crowd, you can add as much garlic, vinegar, and chili to your bowl as you like. 一但你擠過人潮,你可以隨心所欲地在碗裡加進大蒜、醋和辣椒。 I've added kind of a bit of everything, so, let's see what that tastes like. 我每樣都加了一點,那我們就來嚐嚐味道吧。 This is so good. 這很好吃。 You know the bonito fish flakes that dance around on top of the Japanese takoyaki balls? 你們知道日本章魚燒上面舞動著的柴魚片嗎? That's what this soup is made of. 那就是湯頭的原料。 It's a bonito fish flake broth, and they've probably put so much in there, which is why it's got this really nice and rich, almost creamy texture. 這是柴魚高湯,而他們大概在裡面放了很多,這就是為什麼湯底如此美味、濃郁,幾乎是奶油的質地。 And the noodles are super soft and silky and delicate. 而麵條非常軟、絲滑且精緻。 I mean, I've never had noodles with a spoon before, so that speaks to just how soft they are. 我從來沒用湯匙吃過麵,所以那可以證明麵有多軟。 And I've added chili, vinegar, and garlic⏤just a spoonful of each, not to overdo it. 我辣椒、醋、大蒜都各加了一匙,不想太超過。 But that really brings out the umami flavor in the bonito fish flakes. 那真的帶出了柴魚片裡的鮮味。 It's just such a hearty bowl. 真讓人心滿意足的一碗麵。 We're here at yet another busy spot. 我們來到了另一個受歡迎的地點。 This is Jin Feng. 這裡是金峰。 Its braised pork rice might just be one of the best in town. 他的滷肉飯可能是全城裡最好吃的。 It's essentially just a bowl of white rice with delicately braised pork on top and winter melon on the side. 他基本上就是一碗白飯,上面淋著精心滷製的豬肉,搭上一片冬瓜。 Let's give it a go. 我們試試看吧。 This is delicious. 這很美味。 The pork is really rich. 豬肉非常馥鬱。 You can tell how much time has gone into cooking the pork by just how flavorful it is, 你光從豬肉的風味就可以知道烹飪花了多少時間, which is probably why they give you such a big mound of white rice. 這大概是他們給客人這麼多白飯的原因。 The winter melon is there to kind of balance out the flavor. 冬瓜的目的是平衡風味。 It's little bit pickled, so it's kind of sour, but definitely takes away from just how rich the pork is. 它稍微被醃製過,所以有一點酸,但確實地平衡了豬肉的濃郁風味。 This actually reminds me of hong shao rou, the Shanghainese dish, in the sense that they both kind of share that really juicy and fatty characteristic. 這其實讓我想起了上海菜紅燒肉,這兩道菜餚都有多汁、富含脂肪的特點。 The difference is, this one's minced up, whereas hong shao rou comes in bigger pieces. 差別在於,這道菜用絞肉、紅燒肉則是肉塊。 Delish. 美味。 So, this place is a little special. 這個地方有點特別。 Niu Ba Ba specializes in braised beef noodle soup. 牛爸爸的招牌是紅燒牛肉麵。 They fly in premium cuts of meat from Australia and the US, which adds to the price tag of their signature Presidential Noodle Soup. 他們從澳洲和美國空運頂級的牛肉部位,這又提高了他們招牌元首牛肉麵的價格。 A whopping 10,000 Taiwanese dollars. 驚人的台幣一萬元。 Obviously, there are more affordable options on the menu, but we decided we definitely needed to try the country's most expensive noodles. 當然了,菜單上有較平易近人的選項,但我們決定我們一定得試試全過最貴的麵。 So, here we go. 我們開動吧。 Look at the size of this meat. 看看這塊肉的大小。 Nice, firm, thick noodles. 美味、緊實的粗麵條。 Wow. 哇。 These noodles are so full of flavor and so silky smooth. 這些麵條充滿風味、口感滑順。 When I ordered, they gave me four options of noodles. 我點餐時,他們給了我四種麵條選項。 They vary in thickness, and, really, it's just made to order. 他們因粗細而不同,基本上是點餐後製作。 Personal preference, but these were the ones they recommended. 這是個人偏好,但這也是他們推薦的。 They're the second biggest ones. 他們是第二粗的。 What a good choice. 真不錯的選擇。 Now, let's give the beef a try. 現在來試試看牛肉。 These are all different cuts of beef. 這些都是不同部位的牛肉。 This tastes like a brisket; so incredibly tender. 這吃起來有點像牛胸肉,非常嫩。 It's got the flavor of the broth just soaked right through. 整塊肉都吸滿了高湯的風味。 It goes really well with the noodles. 跟麵條非常搭。 If I had to describe this, I'd say it tastes like 10,000 dollars. 如果要我形容,我會說它有一萬元的風味。 When you come to Taipei, you cannot miss bubble tea. 當你來到台北,絕對不能錯過珍珠奶茶。 This is a sweet drink that comes with either a fruit, coffee, or tea base. 這杯甜甜的飲料會有水果、咖啡或是茶基底。 This is a Taiwanese staple. 這是台灣的主要產品。 Anyway, we're here at Chun Shui Tang, and it's claimed to have invented bubble tea in Taiwan. 我們在春水堂,他們宣稱在台灣發明了珍珠奶茶。 I've got their signature bubble pearl milk tea. 我點了他們的招牌珍珠奶茶。 Let's give it a try. 試試看吧。 This is really good. 這真的很好喝。 I've had many bubble teas in my life, and a lot of them have been made out of powder. 我一生中喝過很多珍奶,它們很多都是用粉泡的。 I know that this place makes them with fresh tea leaves. 我知道這個地方會用新鮮茶葉。 And you can really taste the tea flavor. 你可以真的嚐到茶的風味。 And it's not that sweet. 而且它不會太甜。 This is probably one of the best bubble teas I've ever had. 這大概是我喝過最美味的珍奶了。 Yummy! 好喝! So, this is the Tonghua Night Market, one of many in Taiwan. 這是通化夜市,台灣許多夜市之一。 And these are some of the best places to find some amazing street food. 而夜市是找到美味街頭小吃的好去處。 I've heard a lot about this da chang bao xiao chang, so I'm really excited to have found it here. 我聽說很多關於大腸包小腸的是,所以我很興奮能在這裡找到。 It's a pretty crazy snack. 這是蠻瘋狂的一種小吃。 Basically, it's a glutinous rice sausage cut open and filled with another sausage. 他基本上是把糯米腸切開,然後放進另一種香腸。 Let's give it a go. 試吃看看吧。 The sausage is actually pretty sweet; it tastes like a honey sausage. 香腸吃起來蠻甜的,有點像是蜂蜜香腸。 I asked for the garlic one, so it's super garlicky. 我點了大蒜口味的,所以它蒜味很重。 And the glutenous rice kind of balances everything out because it's just plain rice. 而糯米平衡了所有風味,因為它指示一般的米飯。 But the texture is really nice 'cause it's a little bit like a mochi, nice and sticky. 但質地非常好,因為它有點像麻糬,美味又黏稠。 It's gonna take me a while to work this one off, but 10 out of 10; would order again. 這會花我蠻多時間才消耗掉熱量,但我給它滿分,我一定會再點。 This is probably my favorite dessert in all of Taipei. 這大概是我全台北最喜歡的甜點。 It's a peanut brittle ice cream spring roll. 這是花生捲冰淇淋。 Essentially, it's all in the name. 基本上,名字就點名一切了。 It's a wrap with peanut brittle and ice cream rolled up into a little burrito. 它用了春捲皮包裹花生糖粉和冰淇淋,捲成捲餅的樣子。 Oh, and you can opt to add coriander into it. 喔,你也可以選擇在裡面加一點香菜。 I've never tried it from this stall, so I'm pretty excited to see what's up. 我從沒試過這攤的,所以我很興奮嚐嚐看味道。 Just the way I like it. 正是我喜歡的樣子。 So, the ice cream in here is taro, pineapple, and peanut butter flavored ice creams. 裡面的冰淇淋有芋頭、鳳梨和花生口味。 They put three little scoops in there, so you kind of eat your way through the layers. 他們在裡面放了三小球,所以你會一層層地品嘗風味。 And the peanut brittle adds a really nice crunch to it. 花生糖粉提供了非常好的口感。 And strangely enough, I'm not a big coriander fan, but it kind of adds an extra layer of flavor in there that I didn't really expect. 奇怪的是,我不太愛吃香菜,但它加了一層我沒預期到的額外風味。 Still my favorite dessert, though, and the perfect way to end my day of eating in Taipei. 依然是我最喜歡的甜點,也為我吃遍台北的一天畫上完美句點。
